OK, here goes...my first post.

Greetings all you Liberty Lovers!

How about a good old-fashioned bike-a-thon?

I'm stretching this out to three posts so I can post image links...as required by forum rules.

What about a name for it?

I came up with these ideas so far. Don't laugh.

Ride with Ron

"On the Handle Bars of Victory"

or

"With a Handle Grip on Victory"

"Steering the Republican Debate"

Pedal for Paul

"Racing to the Republican Nomination"

A bicyclist (any age) could go door to door, or ask friends or colleagues, Facebook or otherwise to pledge so much a mile.

The bike-a-thon could be coordinated to happen before Ron Paul's visit to that particular state or city and the winner could ride alongside Ron for maybe a mile to one of the rallies and win a free 'I Rode with Ron' or 'I Pedaled with Paul' t-shirt.

Perhaps Ron Paul Swag could offer Ron Paul biking shirts, shorts, hats and maybe even water bottles with whatever the Bike Bomb name ends up being?

The event could promote Ron Paul's youthfulness, exercise (health), protest gas prices (war), accentuate Ron Paul's endurance (tireless effort), race to the White House or to challenge the other candidates (joking) (LOL...if you saw the debate where he did that?).

Well?

There are some additional ideas on bicycling in this thread by “yourname”:
http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?344793-Run-for-Ron-Paul

Also perhaps something such as an “Athletes Peddle-4-Ron-Paul”, best of three, four-mile race held every two-weeks (e.g., the marathon or race is segmented into three four mile, (with whatever layout such as a back and forth or around and around) portions and at completion the three times are averaged out to determine the top three winners)?

A few play-on-word slogans:

Out “gear” corporatist despotism with Ron Paul in 2012

“Kick” out robber-baron elitism this 2012 along with Ron Paul

Stand with Ron Paul and out “peddle” fearmongering and marginalized hatred

This 2012, let’s “chain” tyranny with Ron Paul

Thanks so much Weston,

There are some good ideas on the thread you suggested. The websites with templates to create your own signs are cool.

Your slogans and ideas are very creative and welcomed. Great play on words using "peddle".

Whether walk (include babies in strollers), jog, run, bike or all of them, what is appealing to me is creating an activity that all ages could participate in, showcasing Ron Paul's 'non-specific' age support and drawing attention to his campaign.

The idea of "passing off a copy of the Constitution (in a respectful way, unlike a baton) to the next group and continue this until the planned destination was reached" suggested by yourname, would also be great for a sort of triathlon; walkers pass it off to runners who pass it off to bicyclists.

First things first. Is there some sort of 'official' Ron Paul campaign approval committee that reviews fundraising ideas?

Here are some other ideas, based on your input.

Get it in Gear

"For Liberty"

RON PAUL 2012

Walk the Talk

"Vote With Your Feet"

RON PAUL 2012

Ron Paul Triathlon

"Tromp on Tyranny"

VOTE LIBERTY 2012

+rep for kindredness :p

Anything like this that includes names being written down on clipboards (or e-tablets) will be great.

Having some fun, creating healthy exposure, and BUILDING LISTS!!!

Welcome to the crucible of RPFs :)

Thanks for the welcome ronpaulhawaii and Deborah,

RPH: Your right, building lists...a good reminder.

DK: And no I do not live in Catalina...I wish! Beautiful photo!

I've been mulling this idea of a Bike-A-Thon around in my head for a month now. It seems people comment often about Ron Paul's age and I would like the masses to know how youthful he is. What better way than to emphasize his athletic prowess.

Hi Deborah,

Thanks for the thumbs up! I saw this thread over at DailyPaul today and went ahead and put a link to my thread here. It would be great if someone with organizational ability and the time would pick this up and run with it. My intent was to put the idea out there and offer some input.

Daily Paul Link to Ron Paul Bicycles? (raffle): http://www.dailypaul.com/comment/reply/222746#comment-form

I had this name mulling around in my mind too that could be combined with any of the other ideas above:

"The Ron Paul Challenge"

"Fit to Win"

RON PAUL 2012

Anyone? Anyone? Perhaps a combination of raffle idea and bike-a-thon.

*Please see previous page for ideas.
