I recently registered on line to change party affiliation to republican. I got the forms back, signed and mail them.

Question, how can I tell if they got it, is there any online method?

I'd hate to be waiting for the voter pamphlet and it never arrives because the post office lost the forms.

I also checked off permanent absentee ballet. Does anyone know when they count these? Do they do it on the same day or later?

They should mail you a confirmation card. I registered in July and got mine about a month later.

Ya, they should send you a verification card, but make sure they added you to the right party. I registered as a Republican, but they had me registered as NLP. I called the number on the verification card and they said they would fix it, but the next day I called back and I was still listed as NLP. They told me to not worry about it and that it would get fixed, but I am not going to wait and so I am starting over and re-registering. So just make sure you double check your party affiliation when you get your confirmation card.

Here is the link to find out if you are registered in Sacramento County (http://www.pollingplacelookup.saccounty.net/.%5CLookupPollingPlace_SearchByDOB.aspx). Other counties can be found through this site (http://www.smartvoter.org/voter/faqvoter.html#regvote) by entering your zip code.
It won't tell you the party affiliation, but at least you'll know that you'll be receiving a ballot. If you get the wrong ballot, immediately contact your county's registrar to fix the problem.
