A man who police say fatally shot a dog in a Northeast Austin neighborhood has been charged with deadly conduct, according to an arrest affidavit released today.

Christopher James Thomas, 27, told police he shot his neighbor’s dog, a Rottweiler/German Shepard mix, when it went into his backyard in the Meadows of Walnut Creek neighborhood on Feb. 10, the affidavit said. The dog’s owner had an outdoor surveillance camera capture the incident, the affidavit said.

Thomas, police said, had discharged his weapon in the direction of another home where residents lived at the time, the affidavit said.

“Thomas committed the offense of deadly conduct when he fired his shotgun in the direction of (a neighbor’s) residence,” the affidavit said.

Thomas told police shot the dog with a shotgun in the backyard of the home in the 6700 block of Colony Park Cove after it threatened his girlfriend and child, the affidavit said.

Video from a camera mounted toward both backyards shows a man shooting the animal and later dragging the body outside of the yard’s chain-linked fence, the affidavit said.

Thomas was not shown booked as of Monday afternoon, jail records show.

@1:05... so beautiful.

I know I post this video all the time, but seriously. It's almost unreal that that guy is actually running for president and changing hearts and minds.

Oh, and he still brings it, too. 19:50 mark of this video:
