Barack Obama's Supporters Emulate Ron Paul's
By Sarah Lai Stirland EmailNovember 12, 2007 | 7:35:14 PMCategories: Election '08

Illinois senator and Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's supporters are hoping that they can best their Republican counterparts' fund-raising prowess online.

Girish Manchaiah, a 35-year-old software engineer and Obama supporter in Springboro, Ohio, has set up an online fund-raising deadline of November 16th to raise $5 million.

Asked whether he was inspired by Texas congressman and Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul's supporters, who recently raised $4.2 million in 24 hours, Macchaiah said: "Not really -- I think Ron Paul's people are inspired by what we're doing online."

Nevertheless, it's apparent that Ron Paul's recent news-making haul online has touched a competitive nerve within the Democratic grassroots community.

So far he has 124 signed up. LOOK out, here comes his apathetic supporters!

We'll never know if it succeeds because Obama doesn't have transparency in his Q4 fundraising (i.e., the thermometer).

Well, we'll know when the FEC reports come out mid January.

But what is that about a deadline of November 16th for donations? Is that the signup time and then the one-day money-jumping-jack that they are having?

If I looked in the dictionary under the description of the word "SPIN", I'd see the above.

Why can't other campaigns come up with their own ideas anymore. It seems that the established candidates are actually failing to compete in the marketplace. :D
