Someone on RPF has said many times that the eventual nominee has to win at least two states to get the nomination. When he said it last I asked him to point out the rules. Is this true? Is this a national convention rule?

Here is the video with Ron Paul saying this.

[EDIT| Nevermind. Post just after mine answered my question.

Dr. Paul is not a foolish man. What he said about his needing to win is completely correct.

I think Ron was talking about momentum, not mathematics. We are playing chess but most of the electorate is watching a checkers game, and we need them to not give up and stop voting for Ron. Also, there are a lot of winner take all states. In my mind we do need to win some states, but not any particular one. I think we will have a hard time getting him the nomination without a win soon, barring an event of national significance changing the debate (as TARP did last time, after it was too late). But it isn't IMPOSSIBLE if enough of our people work the process, and Ron wins over delegates of some who drop out/ aren't in contention.
