I'm going to call this one for our team. Fox News seems to have the most updated results. Spokane was a loss for us, but King has turned out favorably. Here is the updated results, 83% reporting:

Mitt 36% 14971
Paul 25% 10358
Rick 24% 10105
Newt 11% 4476

King County (50% reporting):

Mitt 45% 2596
Paul 27% 1580
Rick 18% 1028
Newt 8% 438

Pretty sure that King County will ensure that we will get second place.

If so, what a victory for liberty! Beating out the supposed "alternative" to Mitt who actually campaigned in Washington a fairly large amount.

Well I'm STILL shocked that Santorum did as well as he did IN LIBERAL TOWN King County... I mean if all his vote went to ROmney I wouldn't be surprised, but SANTORUM!!! (like Stewart) that is like a paradox..

And ya we will get second, at the end of the day.

What's really interesting is how Fox News is projecting the delegates (http://www.foxnews.com/politics/elections/2012/washington-caucuses-march-3):

Romney 12
Paul 3
Santorum 3

What!?

You're telling me that Romney is going to get 12 delegates out of today? I don't buy that unless it is somehow tied to the CD's which I haven't checked, but otherwise this is blatant bias.

Second is now a victory?

Yeah it beats third, but it is no victory.

The fact is there are 40 delegates so their 'count' doesn't even distribute all the delegates.. anyways we have won majority of the delegates, I believe it and I know it. By the time we are in State convention we'll have 60-70% of them.. Trust me.

My personal theory is this is all building up for that day in May when it turns out Paul is in 2nd and actually won a lot of states (including Washington) so when it is discovered his organization has won nearly every caucus the media can spin the narrative...

HOW RON PAUL HIJACKED THE CAUCUS SYSTEM AND SOLD OUT DEMOCRACY!

It's all setting up to make us look like we're subverting the will of the people, it's all setting up to make us look like raging hypocrites...

I don't think it's all that bad. Most people (including the media) really aren't all that interested in delegates unless a brokered convention looks likely (and given Romney's momentum, that doesn't look likely atm), and thus aren't likely to make conspiracy theories based around it. At most, they'll mention Ron Paul's 'fanatical supporters' as the reason why he claimed the most delegates, and move on.

Now, if, somehow, Dr. Paul was able to claim the nomination without winning a state, then all you'd hear (by the media, much of the GOP elite, and the entire Democratic Party) would be variations of 'Dr. Paul stole the nomination!'

Is this even possible?

I'm familiar with the delegate strategy, but doesn't he need to win some winner-take-all states to have enough?

My opinion is that he needs a win before we get to the winner take all states to get momentum, but I'd be fine with being proven wrong. Alaska tomorrow for Ron along with two Sunday news shows.

Ron Paul is a real winner. It would be nice to see some landslides as the voters climb on board and show they are real winners also.

Good call, 1836. It wasn't first place, but tonight sure did feel damn well like a first place. Good for Washington.
