We have made much progress the last four years. In the next four to eight, that progress should continue as people are woken up, as older voters grow older, and as younger voters grow older. As our children, and teenagers, reach voting age. In about 20-30 years, I think we will reach a real turning point in America, as long as we continue our hard work, and as we get liberty candidates elected one by one.
We need to not insult Americans who are not aboard the liberty train, but instead gently educate and convince them, one person at a time, that they need to be aboard. We need liberty activists having jobs that pay really well, so we can fund campaigns, and PACs. We need liberty activists running for winnable offices, and working our ways up through the ranks. We need liberty activists getting involved in their local majority party, whether that is the GOP or the Democratic party. Get on committees where you can help make the rules. Get involved in the media. We have seen what a huge impact the media has. Become teachers and professors, so that students can learn the truth. Have lots of kids and raise them to love liberty. Become political strategists. Volunteer. Get involved and known in your churches, in your communities. That way you can have a lot of influence. Read. Learn. Encourage others to do the same.
We can take this country back. We must. And we have to think long-term.

I have to commend you for your optimism.

If Ron Paul does not get into the White House this year. I foresee a very different future 20-30 years from now. Things are going to get MUCH worse for the next few decades if not generations.

An insane amount of debt assuming our economy survives.

An incredible police state under the guise of fighting terrorism to deal with mass civil unrest. National ID cards if not RFID chips coupled with who knows what else, retina scans? Who besides Ron Paul would repeal the Patriot Act, TSA VIPER teams or NDAA? And we know damn well that they will clamp down on the internet.

Our overseas empire will be even more massive.

The Federal Reserve will rule the government that much more.

People dont seem to understand how crucial this election really is.

Honestly people we need to move to states that we have a chance for a future. Move out of Cali and go to Idaho or the Dakotas. Live in New York... Move to NH. Hell with Florida and Michigan's 100k voting for Paul, but being only around 10% shows the lost cause of some places.

Based on what I've been reading in another thread, a few bleeding heart people will give the country away to the liberal progressive movement, and your ideals will be gone.

Unless New Hampshire sets off a spark that relight the torch of freedom, I highly doubt this county will be in a position to have increased freedom in 20 or 30 years. Sure, there are people in WY, CT, VT, FL, OH and TX copying some of the NH activism right now, but we will need people in all 50 states copying the activism that happens in NH. We also need a hell of a lot more people moving to NH.

We have 1,000 movers in NH. If we had 5,000 movers in NH we could really crank up the activism. Then if we just had a few hundred thousand dedicated activists in the rest of the county, copy what we are doing in NH, much of the county could become significantly more free. States like AK, WY, MT, SD, ND, CO, ME, IN and NV could be greatly reformed. If we were truly successful, states like VT, CT, DE, SC, AZ, NM, OR, NC and so on could also see serious progress towards liberty. However, the people that live in CA, NJ, NY, HI, IL, RI and MA, well, I have zero hope for them. I cannot imagine a situation in which they experience a great deal of freedom while living in those states. Maybe I'm wrong :)

Don't you see how our numbers have greatly increased since 2008? Don't you see how the younger people who support freedom will be gaining influence and status over time, and the old people who tend to not support him as much will, to put it bluntly, eventually die out and have much less influence?
We just need to keep our eyes on the prize, and do all those things I mentioned in the OP.

Problem is, we don't have time. They are passing unconstitutional laws at a rate that there will not be anything but, token elections in '16. Sorry but, get your shit in order and work like never before to take over the delegate process and get RP elected NOW. The Feds can pull the plug at anytime, based on the bills recently passed. If RP does not get in, then kiss it goodbye. :(

Don't kid yourself, electoral victory is impossible. We've seen it very clearly this election cycle, the system will not allow itself to be destroyed from within. Don't despair though, we have cause to be optimistic in the long term. Shit is going to hit the fan, sooner or later, and our primary job now should be to prepare for when that happens.

1) We must educate as many people as we can. When the current system goes into crisis, there will be plenty of alternatives offered. Usually, people have turned to fascism or socialism, we must win the war of ideas and make liberty seem like the only solution. This is the area where we've seen the most progress over the last 5 years, thanks to Ron Paul of course. We need to run liberty candidates whenever we can, not to win necessarily, but to make it clear that there is an alternative offered.
2) We must build a strong libertarian cadre, a vanguard. While I obviously detest Lenin, he was a mass murderer after all, he was clearly a genius when it came to organizing a political movement. Who would have thought the bolsheviks would actually seize power before 1917? Rothbard wrote on this as well, we have a lot to learn from Lenin. Minus the murdering people bit.
