The Congressman says he supports a strong national defense and emphasizes his military service. He was an Air Force gynecologist who never left the United States. Today he wants to cut $1 trillion out of the Pentagon budget. He would abandon NATO and abolish the CIA, the Department of Homeland Security and the Patriot Act.
He would give up America’s veto power in the UN Security Council as well as all military assistance to Israel. He would also ignore the major lesson from WW I and WW II, collective security. He would abandon our allies who paid 100% of the costs of Operation Desert Storm and have suffered 35% of all combat casualties in Afghanistan.[4]

Umm... no. He is NOW a gynecologist; however, he was a "Flight Surgeon" in the USAF.

He has regularly stated that he was drafted but was not sent overseas. He even said so in a debate.

That article is just looking to trash him. Why don't we tell all of the people serving in the armed forces that are here in the US that they don't really count because they haven't left the US.

Idiots.

Actually I believe I remember him talking about his experience overseas with some people at a breakfast one on one deal type thing.

Umm ... I can't remember which book it was but he wrote about being in the middle east while serving in the military. So pretty sure they have that one wrong as well.

Actually, Paul has stated in debates that he was stationed overseas at times, just not in an active combat zone. He mentioned Pakistan and Afghanistan as areas he had been during his service. So article is doubly wrong.

I confirm that I have heard Paul say that.

He was stationed in Afghanistan during his second tour as I understand it.

Paul, now in his late 20s, moved with his wife to Michigan where he completed his internship at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Utilizing his physician's training, Paul served in the United States Air Force as a flight surgeon for several years (1963-1965). While in the air force, Paul reached the rank of Captain. Directly after his service in the air force, Paul worked again as a flight surgeon for the United States Air National Guard (1965-1968). After serving the nation's armed forces, Paul and his wife Carol moved to Texas, where they still reside.

You guys are correct. He has said that he was stationed overseas, but did not see any combat.

He's spoken about it a fair amount on several occasions, at least, he says it gives him a mental visualization of the terrain when reports come in these days.

why send views to a shit blog. The more hits he/she gets the more "money" they probably get from ads. Ignore. Politely send him an email and some RP vids, and try to turn him. Otherwise promoting neo-con blogs is bad business.
