i'm starting to look at my dogs differently. Do they make bullet proof vests for dogs?

I think its an instinctual fear. Wolves are the common ancestor of all dogs. Wolves hunt and eat pigs. Cops are frequently called pigs, so is it surprizing they have assumed a pig's fear of dogs? Lol, that being said Good cops are truly golden.

it won't be long till another one of these happens, only we'll read about a stray bullet hitting a small child nearby.

I'm tellin ya, if they do this to my dog I'll go mental - I don't even care. I have an english bulldog, and they can look pretty scary, but he's the most peaceful loving dog I've ever known. He's also insecure because he was attacked by 3 big dogs as a puppy though so he doesn't get along with other dogs too well and I have to avoid them in the park. I can just imagine if some police officer came by and saw my dog barking at another dog (his way of telling it to keep away) and put a bullet in him, or if they stopped me on the streat to do one of their random drug searches because drugs are sold nearby where i live and my dog got freaked, I mean, It's so fucking sad that I have to worry about that now :(

Thats the one. Now all i need is to find a 'doggy' gun and train Katy how to use it.

This actually happened in Utah. Granted, it wasn't a small child, but an innocent bystander none the less. Thankfully, the wound was a minor one.

open season on pitbulls it appears. I notice not one peep about the other dog running loose.

The article really wasn't reporting well. Was King on another persons property when he bit the man. Not that this really matters. King was loose and not under the control of the owner. I dunno. If a dog came on my property and bit me the only police call would have been 'shots fired.'
I do agree that Pits are much maligned. Every decade has it's breed. At one time or another the fear was Shephards, Dobermans, Rottweilers, Huskies, Malamutes and Chows. I've seen each of these breeds in the hands of competent owners and they are some of the best dogs I have ever met. I've yet to meet a Chihuahua I trust or a Chihuahua owner that was competent.
