View Full Version : Detroit Morning Radio "random" phone polling

02-27-2012, 07:12 AM
Drew and Mike (drewmike@wrif.com) are doing phone interviews this morning, calling people and asking "Who do you support in the primary, Romney or Santorum?"

Nothing but uninformed Obama supporters and two Romney supporters so far.

And a Santorum supporter.

But nobody's talking about any issues. They support them because "they look good", "they seem honest", or "the other guy is too dislikeable."

It's sickening. Really really sickening.

This is their twitter:

If you don't like what they say or want them to talk about Paul then tweet them.

All morning they've done about 50 minutes of political coverage.

Ron was mentioned ONCE, when they were reading Letters to the Editor in the Detroit Free Press. A letter-writer said he was voting for Paul after excoriating the other candidates.

The co-host laughed, repeated in a dismissive voice "Ron Paul", and laughed again.

That was it.

They talk about the horse race, about who is likely to win Michigan and what it means going forward in the horse race. Nothing about issues, nothing about Paul maybe winning a district, nothing about why Romney didn't support the auto bailouts, just (mistakenly) saying that it would have hurt the region not to do it.

This is the popular thought out there. This isn't a major-market show that is part of some "media conspiracy". These are just 2 to 4 guys who have had one of the most popular morning shows in the area for 20 years.
