Digg It....what does it mean to digg something?

The screwy part is that I'm an IT Network Engineer for the last 13 years, but I'm new to 'diggin' something. I've also noticed 'burying' something.

I realize I could google this...but I figure someone here will give me the watered down synapsis quicker than I could find it through google.

Digg: Digging is pretty much like rating an article in digg.com.
and burying and pretty much the opposite.
