Anyone catch it in place of Hannity's time slot tonight? Talked about drug laws, prostitution, the EPA ruining people, ridiculous regulations, and just a bunch of other BS stuff that is illegal. I slept through a lot of it so couldn't tell you much else that was in it but it was pretty good what I saw. It repeats again tonight at midnight ET and also a few other times this weekend if you missed it, got these times from the foxnews website:

Talked about drug laws, prostitution, the EPA ruining people, ridiculous regulations, and just a bunch of other BS stuff that is illegal.

And that's just the stuff you know about.

There are literally millions of pages of laws, rules, codes, regulations, edicts and proclamations on the books right now.

There is no way any human being can know all of them, and not run afoul of some of them.

Nobody has paid it any mind in the past, because to enforce them, you would have to watch people 24/7.

That is now changing, as the surveillance grid comes online.

yeah, there was some guy making that very point, how we are all breaking multiple laws every day that we don't even know about, and you can be nailed at any time for it. I've heard somewhere before that the average person commits 3 felonies a day, don't know if that is true or not.

About the special in general, I think it contains some clips from previous Stossel specials, but as a whole it is brand new with some new material probably.

just had a long segment on recording the police. I've seen almost all those clips on RPF already. showed Pete Eyre from Motorhome Diaries getting harassed by police in his motorhome. there was also a segment on raw milk earlier.

talking to LEAP officer now, showing that clip of Columbia cops breaking down door, shooting dog.

Three Felonies a Day is the story of how citizens from all walks of life—doctors, accountants, businessmen, political activists, and others—have found themselves the targets of federal prosecutions, despite sensibly believing that they did nothing wrong, broke no laws, and harmed not a single person. From the perspective of both a legal practitioner who has represented the wrongfully-accused, and of a legal observer who has written about these trends for the past four decades, Three Felonies a Day brings home how individual liberty is threatened by zealous crusades from the Department of Justice. Even the most intelligent and informed citizen (including lawyers and judges, for that matter) cannot predict with any reasonable assurance whether a wide range of seemingly ordinary activities might be regarded by federal prosecutors as felonies.

Only question I have is the one guy who had been selling lobster tails for thirteen years and the feds put him away for six years out of a more than eight year sentence ,for lobster being in bags and not boxes. What kind of prosecutor or judge would take that , and give that ? I would take that as a personal declaration of war on me by them and would have to continually retaliate until the end of time , just out of principle.

Feds have been handing down draconian sentences like that in the commercial fishing world for years now.

A small, unrepresented political minority that is easy to shove around, and also fiercely independent, so their will needed to be broken.

That was a terrific special! Anyone running across this thread who hasn't seen it yet really should take the time to.

And, is it just me, or is Stossel becoming even *more* libertarian now that he knows he has to take up the slack at the network from the firing of The Judge also?

Stossel has always been solidly libertarian. I've never had a problem with any of his reports. He plays the devil's advocate when interviewing people he agrees with, but it's obvious those aren't his views

With every new law or regulation a new government parasite is born. Sometimes multiple parasites; often whole litters called departments.

We're all very fortunate that libertarian-minded John Stossel is on the job and giving favorable coverage to Ron Paul at every opportunity. One of his best recent videos is here: http://youtu.be/X1i2GyZB8Rs (Difference Between Streamlining the Military and Isolationism).

Yeah, I saw it live, and BOTH of those self-righteous assholes had me barking at the TV in frustration... which is pretty much usually only reserved for the GOP debates, lol.

The LEAP guy was talking about dogs and kids getting killed and innocent people getting terrorized on accident, and the Czar rationalized it based on outright lies. And then that fucking prosecutor who wants to utilize the state to "save" the sex worker girls by LOCKING THEM UP IN CAGES? srs? fuck off (...literally, go get laid or something and get your statist dong out of everyone else's business... the only thing you want to "save" is your shitty ass job and perception of yourself and all your righteousness).

I think it is awesome that two of the people featured in the video are New Hampshire activists that moved to New Hampshire as part of the Free State Project.

Ademo, the founder of Cop Block https://www.facebook.com/CopBlock
Pete, the founder of Motorhome Diaries and one of the leaders of CopBlock https://www.facebook.com/MotorhomeDiaries

Stossel even mentioned that Pete's license plate said New Hampshire.

Joel Salatin said at the New Hampshire Liberty Forum that this special would air 4 times on Fox, which means millions of viewers :) Someone here said 5 times, I beleive that. It's so awesome that Fox is doing this.

It's probably just a ratings test, don't get your hopes up. They've had Stossel for years, if they were going to do anything with him besides sideline him to FBN and a 5 minute thrill on O'Reilly as a punching bag they already would have.

You are likely correct. With 5 showings, they should have some idea of the ratings. I loved the ABC Stossel specials. Stossel has been the most viewed liberty voice on TV for many years. This special really helped him with that crown. He really got the message out to the Fox News crowd.
