This email sent out to all RestoreTheRepublic.com members:

OK, Ron Paul spoke to supporters in Phoenix on Saturday and he briefly
laid out the plan.

1. Sign up with the campaign at RonPaul2008.com
2. Get into your local meetup groups
3. Donate money for TV advertising, spread the message at grassroots
4. Vote in straw polls, then primary election
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-M65QbTHpNU

Dr. Paul explicitly said that WE ARE THE CAMPAIGN so we have our initiative
straight from the top. Given this, I'll embellish on Dr. Paul's list.

1. Sign up with the campaign at RonPaul2008.com, register as a republican.

2. Get you and a friend to join or start the local meetup group. This
is important because it's our version of a local campaign headquarters.

3. Donate what you can to the Paul campaign. Derive profit from DVDs,
t-shirts, stickers, etc. and use it to produce more Ron Paul promotional
material and donations to the campaign.

4. Research how to become elected as GOP delegates in your state. If we
don't get pro-Paul delegates he won't be nominated by the GOP and this show
is over. We should start thinking about who we're going to tap for these
roles by December. See the link below for more.

5. Generate as many Ron Paul Republican voters as possible. Get your
primary plan together. Get an advance look at your ballot and make sure
everybody knows how to mark the stupid thing. Make sure everyone knows
where to vote, make sure everyone has a ride.

6. The primaries begin in January with the early states Iowa, Nevada,
New Hampshire, South Carolina and Florida. Naturally, we'll want to
focus all the national or regional power we have on those states
because we'll make the most national impact. From there it's pretty
much a train-wreck. I don't think the top-tier campaigns are going to
be any better organized than we are this time. Not if we do our jobs now.

I figured the more we can consolidate the same plan the better! Keep up the good fight!

RestoreTheRepublic.com is the media side of "America: Freedom to Fascism". They are just getting the website going, but if you sign up there, they have excellent email updates and have free weekly conference calls that you can listen on or participate. I encourage everyone to get involved, it is a great way to really organize with the way they have there conference calls setup. Sometimes the calls are state wide, and sometimes they are nation wide, it is really cool stuff!

This probably doesn't need to be said, but just in case.

Make sure you carry voter registration forms for your state everywhere with you.

People tend to procrastinate. Have them fill out the form with you right there. The easier we make it for them the better. You might even offer to mail it in for them if your budget will allow.

These two sites are the best I can find
http://www.thegreenpapers.com/P08/R-Alloc.phtml
This table explains it all.

http://www.gop.com/Images/AllStateSummaries.pdf
This table tells how many rounds of voting a delegate is bound to vote for the primary winner. Also how the conventions feed the state (congressional district CD, or county.) And how the delegates are divided between CD and at-large.

Each State gets 3 delegate slots for (State party chair, national committeeman, and national committeewoman) Try running for these offices if you can, but don't sweat it. If you can convert one or more of these people to support Ron, then great - but don't waste too much time, or tick them off. try to convert AFTER you are a delegate.

Each State gets 7 at-large delegates (SD - chosen at convention; CA - whomever gets plurality of vote statewide.)

Each State gets 3 delegates per CD. (areas that don't have CDs - Puerto Rico, Samoa, etc. have special allotments.)

Then there are bonus delegates: because South Dakota is such a "Red" state, it gets 11 - CA gets only 1.

Bassed on these, I think the best strategy (for those going to conventions) is to concentrate on the "At-large" delegates. These are the only ones that the Republican machine can use to thwart the will of the primary voters.

So:
Consider a small state like South Dakota. Delegates from primary will be divided up proportionally (with a 20% cut off) If Ron Paul doesn't get 20%, he gets no primary delegates (out of 3). If Ron Paul gets 21%, and all the other candidates get less than 20%, then Ron Paul gets all the primary delegates. If the Flipper, and RP split the vote 50-50, then each gets 1, and the extra is awarded by the fractional % (49.99999999 vs 50.00000001)

The at-large delegates (24) will be able to vote Ron Paul no matter how he does in the primary. County conventions feed delegates to state convention. We should try to recruit a Ron Paul supporter in EACH county.

Also, in South Dakota, delegates are only required to vote for the primary winner for one round. After that, they can vote for whomever they please :!:

In SD, the goal should be to fill the 21 at-large delegate positions (24-3 party slots), and then go for the 3 CD delegate positions last.

In CA, The Ron Paul campaign must submit a roster of delegates for each congressional district (CD), and primary plurality winner takes all 3 delegates for that CD. Candidate with plurality of votes statewide, gets at-large delegates. Delegates are bound for 2 rounds of voting.

Strategy here should be to fill Ron Paul's delegate roster, and then "volunteer" to help Frudy McRompson campaigns fill out their roster (Again, on a CD, by CD basis) with the goal of switching to Ron Paul after the 2nd round. Just be sure to cover our own roster first.

Each meetup should plan it's own state & CD strategy.

Remember - Politics is war by other means.

Later.

Well done Kevinh and Liberty one, nice work, the more exact and how to do facts the better.

My question is, can enough Dr. Paul supporters influence Republican base in each state to direct that states parties goal back to the original 1800's republican goals? Or in another words the way that Rp fans have overwhelmed some websites and such, could the same thing be done for the Republican party itself. Could Rp supporters turn around the Party?

When I hear that Dems want to join, young people, the disfranchised, ect., that could mean large numbers by November. It could be an advantage to have states that declare that you have to pick one or the other in Ron's case.

Just a thought. Maybe you political pros could answer this for me?

Man from La Mancha,

We don't have to influence people in the GOP to restore the republic, we just need to keep them from deserting. Most people these days are voting on automatic IMHO.

If ron paul can make the general election, I think he will be a shoe in. It's all about the honesty, stupid. (not trying to be personal, it's just a slogan)

Here is A plan. I am not saying it is Ron Paul's plan, in fact, I think that simply from a probablities standpoint I can say it is definitely not RP's plan. And yeah, I gloss over a lot of stuff, nothing happens in a vacumn.

Assume RP wins election in 2008. (yeah, I'm a dreamer. but Im not the only one.)
-He pulls back Military, and gets out of all treaties he can. (he doesn't need congress to do these things)
-Executive orders that are contrary to the Constitution are stricken, and new ones are enacted that instruct all executive branch employees to follow constitution to the letter.
-IRS, EPA, BATF, and many other Exec branch employees are furloughed with pay, and have no job to do. Income tax goes uncollected. Some fill out their returns, many don't.
-RP as POTUS files suit with Supreme court, challenging Congress' authority to legislate certain things (EPA, Education, Energy, etc.)
-He proposes a constitutional budget, which congress ignores.
-He vetos everything Congress does pass (until Congress learns to stick to the Constitution.) Some vetos stick, some don't (more money saved)

In 2009 RP supporters complete take-over of GOP (as POTUS, RP is defacto leader of GOP - and has a lot of pull regarding party assignments.)

In 2010, the same people who elected Ron Paul, Run for congress in their local districts, state offices, etc. Since Ron Paul is the defacto leader of the GOP, money and support flows only to those who can portray themselves as Constitutionalists.

Some get elected, some don't. let us assume that just enough (25%) get elected to make every veto stick, and form coalitions with either party to get things done (coalition with DEMS to end drug war) (coalition with neocon hold-overs to end welfare)(coalition with Dems to remove corporate welfare)(coalition with neo-cons...)

In 2011, RP and all RP-minded congressmen change party affiliation to Libertarian. Major aspects of LP platform are enacted, major vestiges of Federalist socialism are removed. Army is disbanded, except for a care-taker corps. Only the Navy, Marines, and Air Force remain

In 2012 RP (as Libertarian) wins re-election. LP now has a seat at the table, and becomes a "major party" with automatic ballot access. More LP congressmen are elected. LP wins a few state governorships as well.

My crystal ball gets a little hazy here. If RP is right (and I think he is) then America has new era of freedom and prosperity. RP uses bully pulpit to exhort all Americans to help their neighbors with part of their reduced Federal tax burden. There is a job for everyone who wants to work, and charity for those who can't.

There could be additional LP victories in 2014, and in 2016, with RP's running mate (let's just say Badnarik) winning election. By 2020, there is no GOP any more, except in a few states. Most people have been conditioned to vote LP.

Badnarik wins reelection, and everyone can see the results of freedom and following the constitution.

in 2024, a democrat wins election, but with a decidedly LP-minded congress, and the congress passes no laws for 2 years.

My point is that we don't need to reform the GOP. All we need to do is get RP nominated in Sept. 2008. Then we need to hold the GOP together long enough to get Dr. Paul elected. After that, the real work begins

I thought by taking back the Republican party at this moment in time we would have more delegates dedicated to vote him in. I am not well versed on this if this is not so. I know the delegates are supposed to vote one way but can't any of them switch for any reasons they want? Just trying to learn more. Thank you

The minute I post this will you use use gutter talk at me instead of logic. Do you have Tourette Syndrome as one of your mental processes. I rapidly wait to see your response to prove me right. But I highly welcome your opinion and your support for Paul. I will only have to translate.
