Does anyone have a tube of this? It did not appear to be a friendly handshake was strange. If someone has a tube, I will embed the video in this post.
Thanks!
Edit- Just found it on Google. Yeah after watching it 5 more times, it just looks like Santorum saying "Ah Dr. Paul, you beat me good tonight, sir".

Edit #2- Post updated to include an extended video & a story from The Blaze.

I personally dislike and disrespect Santorum because he calls Dr. Paul "Ron". Dr. Paul is his elder, and he's served this country far more than Ricky ever will. Geez... you'd think as a "Christian" he'd understand respect for your elders. Santorum is acting like a punk.

If it wasn't an assault, why are we talking about it? Often times Ron Paul supporters are notorious for overreacting to shit like this. Some did it with the Perry pictures and that was called an "assault". Honestly who cares. Ron just had an incredible debate performance and THIS is what we're talking about?

It was friendly. Come on guys this is real life. Ron disagrees with all of them to varying degrees on politics. But I'm sure he respects them all, presidential politics is a meat grinder. I'm sure they are all friendly on some level. I hate to say it this way; but it is all a show. Ron is the most genuine but it's still a show. You think they'd really discuss issues privately the way they do in a debate? They are all brilliant in their own ways. The show is dumbed down tenfold. It was clearly a you kicked my ass handshake. But they all know it's a show. 95% of the attacks on any of the candidates are purely intellectually dishonest.

I don't know what to make of it other than it makes Santorum look like an idiot. Talk about the kid in the room. It was incredibly juvenile and looked downright goofy.
Edited to add: I suddenly noticed the "shooting" and Santorum's reaction is amusing in that respect. But it still it was a bit much... like looking for a photo op showing him and Ron as buddies.
Clearly an act of subconscious aggression. Not assault, nothing to go overboard on.

We can't have it both ways. Can't complain about Santorum doing this to a "76 year old man" without dispelling the idea that Ron is too old.
I thought it was a pretty cool interaction between the two. I agree it was more of a "you got me you sonofabitch" type handshake. He pats him on the back too.

It happens every Christmas at many households. Little Ricky thinks that this is going to be the year that he can beat his grandfather in arm wrestling, but just like ever other year Grampa Ronnie kicks his ass. So, not to look like a complete sissy in front of his cousins he finishes with an awkwardly macho handshake. Grampa just smiles and wonders what may have gone wrong with the child.

He did jerk his arm pretty hard backward. That was no hand shake. If all Paul had to do was get in a ring and beat these guys physically I think he would win. Paul is no slouch when it comes to physical fitness. He did challenge all of them to a 25 mile bike race, I notice none of them took him up on that offer.

That was my take on it last night. Watching the video again there may have been a bit more to it - at least a little bit of frustration being taken out, a little bit of alpha male competition - but I still think it was mostly a "You old son of a gun, you really handed me my ass tonight!"

Did you see Ron's chair rock back and forth from the hand shake? That's not how you treat a 76 year old statesman. It was incredibly disrespectful and was obviously his attempt at releasing his frustration. When was the last time any of us had our hands shook like that? Santorum's a sore loser and this just makes it more obviously so.

The Top 10 Handshake types and what they reveal about you, your clients and your candidates
http://blog.sironaconsulting.com/sironasays/2007/10/the-top-10-hand.html
4. Controller – You feel your hand being pulled toward the person or strongly guided in a different direction, perhaps towards a chair. People who do this are controllers. This means they want to dominate any inanimate or animate object in the room (and that would include you). If your goals are different than theirs there may be challenges ahead. Do more listening than talking and see if you can find common ground so these individuals can control the situation toward your desired objective.
7. Bone Crusher – The message of squeezing your hand until you cringe is clearly designed to intimidate you. Even when the person may not know how strong they are, there is still a message of intimidation and power behind the grip. You don’t have to pretend to be a wimp with them, and, in fact, they may respond positively to you if you present yourself with strength. Just don’t get into a hand-squeezing contest when you shake because then it becomes a competition and even if you win, you’ll lose.

Don't know if anyone has posted this video of the handshake, but it gives a better perspective than the original 5 second one.
Thanks. That was good. It showed Ron's grin during the handshake. :D

SANTORUM’S OVERLY AGGRESSIVE HANDSHAKE WITH PAUL
Posted on February 23, 2012 at 10:45am by Eddie Scarry
After last night’s GOP debate, per usual, the candidates shook hands as they cleared the stage. But one handshake in particular between Rick Santorum and Ron Paul could be classified as assault. Or a misdemeanor, at least.
Watch as Paul extends his arm halfway, palm out. Santorum seizes it in a “put ‘er there, partner!” kind of way then aggressively pumps in and out, making it look like a yanky dance:

I think it's great. As other said it shows Ron got to him. I feel the same way as the "Perry puts his finger in Ron's face" incident. It wasn't long after that until Perry's campaign went into a hopeless tailspin. Let's hope the same think happens to Santorum. Rick was being a prick with the handshake, but he did end it with a "friendly" pat on the back. He's later statements/conspiracy theory about Dr. Paul and Mitt Romney confirms that he was none to happy about how Ron worked him over that night.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Paul’s shoulder socket.
lol!
It was definitely an attempted domination thing, and Ron rode it out leaning back casually, but when he started to get up Santorum again reached in to pound his back while he was coming up. Santorum just looked like an idiot, though.

Ron to Santorum: "School's not out yet, son, and you still have much to learn..."

I think Santorum was reaching out to be hugged after a crushing defeat.

If you have the chance to go to a Santorum event, be sure to shake his hand like this.
Any wonder what his reaction would be?

While in IA, a friend of mine (and another member of the GOTV) was asked to go with the Rand Paul entourage to an event. She wore a ron paul pin on her jacket. Santorum, who was also at the event, came walking up to her, and was extending his hand to say hello. When he saw her RP pin, he jerked his hand back, looked away, and walked past her.
As bugs bunny would say, "what an ultra-maroon"

Meh, the handshake was simply a friendly competitive one. I've seen handshakes just like this one all throughout my life when a couple guys were competing in some way.
