It really is and pictures can't really do it justice. Union Station is amazing and there are old fire trucks and train cars etc all over, plus it has a science center, a planetarium, restaurants everything. It is really beautiful.

I saw some reports of 3000 and others saying 1500. It looks like the higher end to me!

If it is not too hard to find out: How much does renting of Union Station cost?
Or halls or any other rooms where Ron is campaigning? Is it significant expenditure?

It's a Nikon D40 and his album has many different shots with different lighting settings. Union Station is saying close to 3000 (not confirmed with my own ears). Erin Dunn organized most of the event and was doing sign in sheets and is now working on tallying those (shes doing most of this all alone, so it may take a bit) I'll post when I find out what her official count was. Keep in mind too that aside from the 3 people who worked on setting up the event, no one in KC knew about the event more than 48 hours before it happened. I'm guessing a bigger venue would be needed if there had been a few weeks notice.

As for cost, I'll ask her that too. Not sure but I'm guessing the number is going to sound pretty high to someone like me.
