Call a Mrs. Karen Cross (a very nice lady) who happens to be the political director of Natl' Right to Life and tell her that YOU think NRTL should support Ron Paul.

If she isn't in her office, leave her a voice mail!

No don't. What is the point? Go out and knock on some doors. This is either the dumbest campaign ever, or people simply are housebound and can't get off their computers and phones. Go knock on some G-D doors! Who cares what a bunch of idiots who purport to represent people they do not represent think? KNOCK ON SOME DOORS! Or if you're fond of making phone calls, CALL SOME NEIGHBORS ABOUT RON PAUL! Clear enough?

When it comes to obtaining an endorsement from a major organization, Ron Paul has to personally make the pitch to its leadership. (Take it from someone who has worked on GOP campaigns for federal office.) A major organization is not going to endorse (or not endorse) someone because of phone calls from some Tom, Dick, or Harry off the street. It is actually a formal process where a decision is reached after the leadership has listened to every candidate deliver his/her personal pitch after a lengthy period of time. Aksmith makes a valid point. Unless you have some inside track with an organization's leadership, you should not be wasting any phone calls to the leadership but calling your friends, family, and neighbors instead.

The "right to life" is and has been nothing more then a useless political tool.

Ron Paul spoke at ther dinner and was without doubt right on the numbers. They will never really address this issue, then they wont have something to bitch about ever other year.

Its a tool, nothing more. These people could care less about shit but themselves. These people are "Isolationists" who need the time to shine, even if its just a dull glow every once in a bit.

Fred Thompson's law firm was the one who pushed the pro-choice issue not to long ago

Sometimes these endorsements are given without doing due diligence. Sometimes they ask state directors who to endorse without doing research on a candidate. Do they even know that Fred Thompson lobbied for pro choice?

We don't know for sure. Be polite and make your case and find out what these groups are thinking about when they make their endorsements.

I have seen groups make endorsements only to have these endorsement bite them back. I think the Christian Coalition is refusing to endorse Rudy while Pat Robertson is endorsing Rudy. There can be splits within these groups.

What a generalist load of horse manure.

They already endorsed Thompson. They're not going to retract because it would make them look foolish. They're also not fond of his voting record.

They might not publicize the endorsement as much if their members start quitting.

There are other competing groups that will gladly take their membership dues.

Activists take note of these things and vote with their memberships and contributions.

I think the Christian Coalition started to go under because they endorsed Bob Dole and that was too much for most members.

Certainly Pat Robertson endorsement of Rudy has raised many eyebrows among liberals, conservatives, moderates but most of all the Christian Coalition members.

Other former christian coalition state chairmen have gone to work for pro choice republicans and as a result the state chapters dissolved.
