Technically isn't this the next contest?

In 2008 on the democratic site it was:

4521 total votes

Barack Obama 2,264
Hillary Clinton 2,257

For the republican side it was:

2,934 total votes

Mike Huckabee 1, 286
John McCain 1, 648
Paul - had no votes but this doesn't sound right

The #'s for the Dems suggest a 'blue' island.

This is a somewhat militarized island...so the military vote could be important (could be a good or bad thing). Apparently there is an independent streak on the island and not all like the idea of the US using their island and a oversized aircraft carrier.

According to the CIA fact-book, whites are in the minority (7%):

https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/gq.html

Think this is a good thing as we're losing the white-trash vote big time. On the downside it is 85% catholic (Santorum and Newt could play this card)

Only 9 electoral votes at stake, but this could be a great momementom win going into Super Tuesday if we can pull it off. I think this demographic (especially without a democratic contest) could be receptive to an anti-war message.

Anybody have contacts here? Anybody know our chances?

Politics are big in Guam, they make a huge deal of elections. All the military people probably vote in their home state absentee, not in Guam. Ron Paul is not popular there. The results will be a footnote, if they are even reported. That's about all I know.

Guam's caucus is most likely on March 10.

http://www.thegreenpapers.com/P12/GU-RWeird...Wikipedia is reporting a 2-18 Caucus: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republican_Party_presidential_primaries,_2012

Maybe both sources are reporting different stages in the caucus?
