“There’s nothing to this, ” said one U.S. official, who added that there were no indications that the reports were true.
No indication of truth =/= untrue.
Obviously it is unlikely that this happened but there are multiple reasons that #1 The US government would want to keep it quiet for as long as possible, and #2 Kim Jung Un would be assassinated.

He probably knows the realities of the power struggle going on there. It's a situation waiting to blow up with three sides trying to be in the position to gain from the chaos.

Pretty funny. The rumour first got to me through a friend yesterday morning. No media was reporting on it except perhaps the BBC. So I spent about a half hour searching and couldn't come up with anything. I thought well let me go and check Alex Jones. Sure enough he was already reporting that it was more than likely a rumour. I figured if Alex wasn't making a big whoop over it then it more than likely WAS a rumour.
