Wednesday, February 22 is the deadline to register Republican in Louisiana.


Before anyone says that the registration deadline was back in December, THIS deadline is for the PRIMARY on March 24.

The December deadline was to participate in the caucus. If you missed the December deadline, you can still register to vote or re-register as a Republican by February 22 to vote in the primary.

The deadline to participate in the delegate generating caucus to be held in late April was in December. Not much comes of the primary; it is a dog and pony show.

20 delegates are allocated proportionally and bound to Presidential candidates earning 25% or more of the primary vote. The primary is important in addition to the caucus.

BUMP!! AND KEEP YOUR RECEIPT!! Last time they brought an old registration record and tried to keep everyone from caucusing who hadn't signed up before THAT one, some 3 months or so before the deadline, as I read in accounts of what happened there

Question. I regestered to vote some time back in November, so I am eligible for the caucus. At the time I was living in Zachary, LA. I just moved to New Orleans. If I change where my voter registration, how will that effect me in the caucus?

If you are just updating your address, the date you registered Republican should not change.

However, you should definitely contact the Secretary of State here (http://www.sos.la.gov/tabid/159/Default.aspx) and ask if you update your address, will the date you registered Republican remain in November.

You should also contact someone within the Louisiana campaign. I found this contact number: Wendy - 504.654.7627.
