View Full Version : Ron Paul Shatters "Ceiling" Again in Minnesota

Few words have been more frequently used by the media to describe Ron Paul than "ceiling."

First it was 10%.

Then it was 15%.

Then it was 20%.

Then we beat that in Iowa and New Hampshire, and it was 25%, perhaps?

Now we have shattered yet another ceiling. Our numbers keep growing. We are winning a lot of delegates... and we are far exceeding what we are "supposed" to be doing.

I would say we are doing pretty darn well.

Yeah, everyone thought this was easy, it's not, we are fighting the whole establishment here!

This second Santorum surge is a massive blessing IMO. It shatters the illusion that Romney/Gingrich are the front runners which were really their only assets.

Establishment being defined as:

Every single corrupt entity in the world.

AND WE'RE WINNING.

My thoughts also. As painful as it is to watch as Santorum goes above 50% ceiling in MO, it may be good for us in a backhanded way.

So, based on the 'delegate map' of the primary race (see below master thread, prepared months ago, so it's dispassionate), WHERE ARE WE?

http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?330516-How-Ron-Paul-Wins-the-Nomination-(full-nomination-schedule-delegate-s-and-analysis)

The first critical states listed were Maine, Minnesota and Colorado. Projected vote % and delegate (Pledged or Unpledged) gains:

Maine-- up to 50%, 12 delegates, P; Minnesota-- up to 30 delegates, U; Colorado-- 33%+, 12-18 delegates, U

2/7, Current Results:

Maine-- (PENDING); Minnesota--27% (2nd), maybe 15 delegates, U; Colorado-- 12%, maybe 5 delegates, U
Missouri--IRRELEVANT (no delegates, not a critical state)

Colorado is the low performer here, but decent, Minn. is also solid, Maine still looks very promising. We are approximately on track, delegate wise. The complaints are mostly coming from those who want us to finish FIRST somewhere as the primary key ingredient of success, and to sustain momentum. That latter consideration or sentiment has merit in my view, but the main point is that from a delegate standpoint, we're in OK shape.

Can you say brokered convention, with massive delegates? :D

Not sure if I follow your math - CNN shows us at a total of 17 delegates right now including MN but not Colorado results.

Glad to see the strong 2nd in Minnesota!

Does CNN count Iowa which has not yet been decided?

I just got back from my caucus in MN for Ron Paul. Happy to report that he's winning my county with around 55% of the vote!! And also I'm a delegate to the county convention. :)

The polls had Ron no better than fourth in Minnesota, so kudos to the people up north for getting out the vote!

I corrected the breakdown for CO, the actual low performer. The delegate estimates are mine, not CNN's.

For what it's worth, in MY personal precinct meeting the results were as follows:

Ron Paul: 11 votes
Rick Santorum: 11 votes
Newt Gingrich: 2 votes
Mitt Romney: 2 votes

Sometimes I'm really pretty proud of southern Minnesota!
