I like the whole thing, it really works for a broad range of audiences.

the music is kind of corny

Should sell well in the state, don't you think.

And I don't see how something this strong can't counteract the fluff Romney has put out.

I like it. One suggestion? Put some text on the screen to accompany the "more military donations" figure statement at the beginning rather than that plain "Ron Paul 2008" splash screen.

need better voice quality at the beginning. although it does say rough version ill assume that will be cleaned up. I like it, but the beginning just reminds me of a high school vid with the voice and all...
bo rocks it =p

I agree that some better voice talent is needed as well, no offense to the current voice.

That's good, because we are targeting the many Iowans who:

a.) are veterans (that's LOTS of people in Iowa)
b.) are conservatives who believe in military service
c.) are middle-aged to older
d.) have never heard about Ron Paul
e.) eat at the VFW breakfasts every Sunday morning (I think it was Sunday morning, when I was in Iowa visiting family we ate at the VFW)
f.) are patriotic and believe a President should have military experience
g.) think Ron Paul is weak on veterans or defense
etc.

This ad might not appeal to RON PAUL supporters who like big bold flashy stuff, but we don't think big & bold & flashy is appropriate for Iowa. I think the campaign would appreciate this ad, as a conservative, traditional campaign approach that will win over voters.

Bo Thompson has problems speaking because he was shot in his face. It took 100 takes to piece together him speaking. He did it because he believes in Ron Paul and his message.

Nice video. Yeah, if you can get James Earl Jones to speak the first part that would be great :P j/k

I know you probably already have, but please thank him a few more times for his service to our country if you speak with him :)

Did you guys consider using the Reagan quote? Seems like a good bit to toss in, the hands-down voice of conservative authority endorsing him.

I love it. I would echo what someone else said about a graphic showing he had the most military donations with a source (ABC News?)

I think so too.

Also, the video editor Chris Rye has to drive 2 hours to obtain the professional VO, but it will be added soon. The voice in the beginning is a placeholder for now.

I will see what we can do to "spice up" the beginning

I love it. One suggestion: would you consider using yellow color for the phone number? The white blends into the background when the number first shows up.

Nice work!

I would suggest using the Iowa-specific campaign phone number. This rings into the Iowa HQ in Des Moines and is being added to all signs, radio commercials, automated calls, etc. going into Iowa.

Should we really be using the official campaign numbers? Does this create any FEC problems?

Is it too late to change the voiceover? Its not bad, but you've got to get a professional.

I think it's great. if i had to bring up 1 improvement is it would of been nice to have 1 shot of Ron Paul in his military uniform. a visual of him in uniform goes a long way and pictures always trump words.

The voiceover in the beginning is just a placeholder. We're recording a professional voice this week to replace the one you hear now.

Phone number has been updated to Iowa HQ's number.

Source text added in first logo shot during the military donations claim (Source: Houston Chronicle/ABC News).

Ditto on the thanks to Bo Thompson.

Do even need a voiceover other than to say vote for Ron Paul for President on Jan. 3? I'd let Bo's words speak for themselves.

A picture of RP in his air force uniform would be good too.

I think it is a decent ad, but something that would work better after people already knew of his stances on the issues. The ad might not be effective for people who don't know what he stands for.

I just watched the ad, and it is really great. I heard the announcer say RP is a presidential candidate, but the graphics don't indicate it at all. It could be a little confusing since Bo is talking about him being a congressman. It doesn't show he's a Republican, either. I'm not sure how important that is since there will be other commercials, but I thought I might mention it.

All in all, it is a really fabulous commercial that addresses some concerns voiced by voters here. Thanks for all your hard work.
