Please stop pointing out that Dems were polled. The makeup is of the general electorate. The poll included Obama approval ratings. That is why Dems were included.

The Republican national poll obviously didn't include those Dems. It included Republicans and probably some of the independents.

Thanks.

The Reuters article on it said the GOP primary part was GOP voters. So not even indies were polled for that, meaning Ron's support is even stronger than it shows!

Romney was backed by 29 percent of Republican voters in the telephone poll conducted February 2-6, down from 30 percent in a survey in early January.

The former Massachusetts governor's three rivals in the race to oppose Democratic President Barack Obama in November were in a virtual tie for second, the poll showed. The gaps between the three were within the poll's margin of error.

Texas Congressman Ron Paul's support grew by 5 percentage points to 21 percent, moving him into second place and ahead of former House of Representatives speaker Newt Gingrich, whose support slipped to 19 percent from 20 percent.

Support for former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum also rose by 5 points to reach 18 percent, putting him just behind Gingrich, according to the poll.

well santorum IS polling 45 percent in Missouri and 33 in Minnesota and Ron Paul's RCP average is down to 11.7 from a high of 14.

i've been burned before and will hold off cheering until this poll is disproven to be an outlyer.

Ding ding ding ding!

Some of the negativity here has turned me, a longtime campaign pessimist, into one of the biggest optimists around.

We need to fire ourselves up if we are to win!

This shows me that we have a very good chance here of getting some momentum going. People need to turn out and get Paul a victory in Minnesota and outdo the polls in Colorado. Heck, even Blitzer is calling for a "big night" for Dr. Paul (he just said that on CNN).

i've been burned before and will hold off cheering until this poll is disproven to be an outlyer. It could definitely be an outlyer, but they didn't poll dems, that's the important part.
