Alright, im canadian, and this is an argument that comes up quite often when i get talking about ron paul.

I give alot of money to chipins and whatnot, and people think im insane for saying i'd give every last cent that i dont absolutely need to ron pauls campaign.

I try to explain to people what ron paul stands for, and how he can save alot of lives and the american economy but they say somethign ignorant like "why do you care, you're canadian".

I usually just follow this up by saying, how i care about freedom, liberty, and bringing troops home and saving their lives. Which doesnt really make people realize anything for some reason. I know what happens in america must affect us canadians directly, but to be honest, im really not sure how...

Any ideas on how i can better follow up on this?

NAU, also our trade agreements right now would certainly open up to all businesses not just the big businesses in Canada.

The free trade we have now is Govt managed trade so without doubt some businesses are not getting a chance to compete here in America.

Since we also tend to led the world in Military endeavors this would mean Canada wouldnt be asked to fight in unfounded wars on our account.

Lots of money will come to canada with real free trade, same for the US will be a more open for smaller farmers, ranchers, even smaller oil companies. in essence it helps the PEOPLE and not just the big business.

Canada sells 82.3% of its exports to the united states. A serious currency crisis could damage the Canadian economy. And just so you know your not the only Canadian is finding it near impossible to get other Canadians interested in "some American politician".

Wow some great points, im actually taking notes here thanks alot.

1 question... i just watched the lou dobbs video on the NAU on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T74VA3xU0EA) and im shocked... Is this actually being passed without the approval of the people from any of the countries?

Thats what happens when our politicians sign treaties and join global organizations. They start to transfer power from the voting base to higher level communities that are not responsible to the citizens.

Both countries need some serious citizen watchdogging and PAC money to make these issues known to the people. Thats the only way to pressure the current administrations to stop in their tracks.

If you want Clay, look into Connie Fogal, leader of the Canadian Action Party . She often discusses in depth, issues like the NAU. I only started learning about her recently but she seems sort of like the closest we have to a Ron Paul.

Here's one of her talks:

more than just American or Canadian citizens - we are all citizens of the human race, and we stand united in the cause of Freedom! don't confuse this believe as a threat to national sovereignty.

Becuase your reserves are nearly one hundred percent in the dollar, if we go down, we're taking you guys with us. The canadian dollar might be fine now, but keep in mind that we import something like 70% of our oil from you. Our economies are already hugley intertwined.

Most Canadians, according to polls, were/are against the War/Attack on Iraq (which has morphed into the "War on Terror").

And we're against American Empire building and warmongering; we're essentially a peaceful people. We don't support NAFTA, the WTO, or the secretive and now exposed Security & Prosperity Partnership of North America (see www.spp.gov), among other corporate-led and -funded purported 'world' institutions.

We're for smaller government, particularly at the federal and provincial levels. We want our communities back, whose resources have been bled virtually dry by our greedy top-tier governments.

i see Bellingham becoming Tijuana if it doesn't happen, and it's not like that's bad for Vancouver in the short term... but you can't argue that Canada tends to mirror the US in too many of the bad ways.

i'd tell people that a free US will mean a free, safe, and prosperous Canada.

thanks for your help. where are you from (please add location to your "Aboot")?

People would probably be allowed to go to Canada to buy medical supplies and return to the US if Ron's vote in Congress meant anything.

It may help Canadians - and others in the FreeWorldŽ - realize that they all wear the same make of straight-jacket. Instead of having no voice through two pre-approved parties they have four (for extra warmth, I guess).

You'd no longer have rude Americans impersonate Canadians when they vacation in Europe.

First off, thank you for your support.

Second, you may not sound as "crazy" as we Americans would(we have to proselytize carefully,IE no truther stuff, and careful when talking about NAU, I was called a fruitcake) Meaning, you would have nothing to lose by talking about Ron Paul and the NAU to fellow Canadians...so you might want to mention that. I've seen the videos of the Canadians protesting the summits, very passionate...you never know.

NAFTA was passed by executive fiat and with no say from the people or Congress.

I can think of a reason why, because he won't allow our DEA to trespass, kidnap and indict Canadian citizens who are not violating Canadian laws!

How about that?!
