A procedure for dealing with the “trouble box” will be agreed upon by party and campaign officials, Gallagher said. He and other party officials acknowledged that some of the precincts may be “thrown out.”

“Obviously we want to count as many ballots as possible,” Gallagher said. “We want people’s voices to be heard.”

Campaign officials have not commented on the process.

“Right now, no one is suing us,” Gallagher said, adding officials have found no evidence of fraud. The count discrepancies could be the result of late arrivals who received a ballot but didn't sign in.

As of 1 p.m., 70 percent of the ballots had been counted statewide.

The race has been called for Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who had a 6,199 vote lead in the early count.

The count in Clark County is not expected to affect Romney’s victory, but it could determine which candidate comes in second place.

According to partial returns, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich was leading U.S. Rep. Ron Paul by 1,004 votes.

Nevada’s national delegates are awarded in proportion to the vote each candidate received in the caucuses—making an accurate determination of who comes in second critical as Gingrich and Paul fight to collect enough delegates to continue competing with Romney for the nomination.

It seems they are hoping the number put aside won't end up being big enough to impact any outcome, placement or delegates, in which case no one will care as much.

I wonder if they'll use the same "trouble box" they stuck the ballots in after suspending the 2008 convention.

I know that was a joke, but was that box symbolically presented to Ron Paul recently? Thought i heard something about it.

No one is suing them... yeah because it is Sunday.

They are basically stating that IF there was any voting fraud and none of the campaigns have found out, they are NOT looking (I imagine this happen anywhere around the world as any kind of voting fraud is really bad PR).
At least, that's the vibe I get from that statement.

This is just messed up, it's what, 18 hours after caucuses closed ? See, if there is no voting fraud, there's a great deal of incompetence. How can you get a 'trouble box' ? Were these people that were supposed to run the precincts even instructed on what to do ?

Well here's what I see..

1. Either there is Voter Fraud
2. or people voted but weren't signed in.

They said no evidence of fraud. Means 2. I think they should count them in case of 2. Punishing the people's voice because of party incompetence doesn't make sense to me.

AT THE VERY LEAST I expect, NO no I DEMAND, Results WITH and Without BOTH BE RELEASED if they want to throw out the votes!

One has to wonder what the vote count is in that "trouble box". I mean, just who has the most votes in that box?

Romney, I'm sure. But Ron will also most certainly have more than Gingrich, because that is how Clark county went, per results on twitter yesterday. Personally if I were there for Pauls' campaign and there were 4 people who hadn't signed in, but 80 votes between Ron and Gingrich I'd just agree to DEEM that all 4 of those were votes for Ron, throw out four of my votes, and get the discrepency at least.

Why not divide the discrepancy up between all four? If there were 4 people who hadn't signed in, then take one vote away from each candidate.

because Grinch would just not agree to that but would look awfully bad not agreeing to count them all as Ron's. I'd only do it if the numbers ran as I said, though. It is comparative increase which counts.

Many ballots in the "trouble box" are in there 'cause the precinct captain forgot to sign in, resulting in a one-vote discrepancy. #nvcaucus

And that one vote is going to cause a whole precinct thrown out? If they do that then I can't imagine the stupidity of these people

Yes it was. Once it was finally opened and counted it became a FACT that Paul should have had the delegates for NV to the national convention.

This SHOULD be the gated community box!

We need to know the exact precinct that box is from then track down as many tweets as we can where people posted the results.

Then we can see how many votes that we are talking about.
