View Full Version : A theory about Nevada

I have a theory. What if most of the folks who the Ron Paul campaign id'd actually turned out? And what if a lion's share of those were in Clark? I would not be surprised if RP actually had enough real votes to take 1st place and that's why there is this funny business and delay going on.

And I feel that RP's campaign knew what votes to expect and because they aren't there he is rightfully suspicious.

I like this theory because it is exactly what I want to believe happened.

I think it has a measure of credibility, because honestly, what makes less sense to me as I evaluate the current landscape is that Paul had all these ID's that never turned out.

It'd be really nice to get an update from the campaign, a press release, anything.

9am on a Saturday is pretty darn early for a late night city like las vegas (especially those in the service industry)

I would like to believe this, but in the end I think plain incompetence is the most simple and likely explanation for what's happening in Nevada.

Doubt it. We would neet 18,000 votes to reach 22,000 and the math simply is not there. Even if we win every single vote in clark county, there are not enough precincts remaining to make it.

2nd place, yeah it can happen, but 1st and certainly 22k is out of the question

I don't think so, Tim. Maybe enough votes there for 2nd.

a couple of the dudes on Intrade did the math and the untallied portions of CLARK hand ron paul a secure second place
if he whumps newt gimgrich by ten percent plus in each untallied precinct. last nite 1836 came to that same conclusion.

I can't believe the super small turnout they have in nevada.

theirs only 24,813 votes counted right now.

I think it's more likely that they're sitting on votes that would put us in second, just for long enough that the media can report Newt as the second place finisher and the truth can come out as a correction. But it could also be sheer incompetence. Hanlon's Razor and all that.

It could be enough to show that he beat Newt for 2nd by a significant margin and that would be a newsworthy story in and of itself.

THAT's what I want to know... Who and when the hell decided on a 9AM caucus time? Did the GOP Cronies come up with this and when was it announced? Furthermore, ALL the Vegas Strip caucuses which would have allowed casino and service workers to vote without leaving work were removed by the GOP. There's hundereds ... possibly thousand votes right there dominated by young people and hispanics. It seems to me with the process alone that the fix was in.

No. Paul may have had the folks to win 2nd, but Mitt won end of story.

Nevada apportions its delegates. It's more important than you think. I think the plan is to keep Newt in the limelight and keep Ron out of it.

would be $235 for 500 shares and if he gets second that'd be $5,000.

i'd take it in a heart beat. looks like i need to get setup there with a bank account for future events like this

Nah, you can't just hide 4000 votes. If the vote was divided by less than a few 10's I'd say it's a possibility. Almost every caucus report I saw from RP supporters showed Romney winning by a few or more. Clark County is just not RP territory.

Of course it was intentional to be at 9:00 AM. That way you only get the oldsters to the caucus that reliably vote for who the TV says to vote for.

at 50% of CLARK in... dr. ron paul + newt are 1000 votes apart.

70 percent of nevada as a whole is in and mr. mitt is at 50% plus.

It totally wouldn't surprise me if this was the case. It would make sense if the campaign focused on high yield areas.

only a few more votes left in clark county to count
and 3rd place in nevada is going to doctor ron paul
