It's close though. Could still get 2nd. Other metrics besides age and sex show a tie and some have ron slightly ahead. He trails going by the age and sex metrics though.

He was first in an entrance poll in Iowa...;)

Santorum in single digits, Ha. WTF was up with those polls showing that dude beating Ron?

Where are you seeing him in third? Among whites, yes, but I think we can make up that 1% among the 10% that are non-white.

I knew 3 days ago when they started pumping Paul would be 2nd that we would be third. They wanted to set up a failure.

Edit:

Men= 53%
Women= 47%

Ron

(14)(.47) + (23)(.53)= 18.77

Newt

(21)(.47) + (18)(.53)= 19.41

Difference= .64%

For an entrance poll, thats statistically insignificant

It's gonna be close though.

Yeah i did the math

Paul is trailing Gingrich by about .6%

BUT these are ENTRANCE polls, not EXIT polls, which are notoriously less reliable

Gingrich 21% women 18% men
Paul 14% women 23% men

averaged =

Gingrich 19.5%
Paul 18.5%

1% difference

A bit closer than that. More men voted.

Gingrich 21% women 18% men
Paul 14% women 23% men

averaged =

Gingrich 19.5%
Paul 18.5%

1% difference

Not how the math works, more men than women

Men= 53%
WOmen= 47%

Ron

(14)(.47) + (23)(.53)= 18.77

Newt

(21)(.47) + (18)(.53)= 19.41

Good news about entrance polls this time around: Paul campaigned and had organization in Nevada
Bad news about entrance polls: Paul was overpolled in Iowa because undecideds went to Santorum last minute...but that's because the media was pumping him.

Wrong, they were dead on the money. The first entrance poll numbers didn't have a big enough sample. Once they did, dead on.

Well, aren't these caucuses supposed to have the advantage of the activists speaking on behalf of their preferred candidate before voting takes place? Isn't the "entrance" prior to the speeches/voting? If so, wouldn't the speeches presumably have at least >0% influence on the actual voting? If not, I guess there is no point publicly speaking on behalf of candidates.

No, once the results come in, they weight the numbers to reflect the results.

Found the "Were the Campaign Ads Important to Your Vote?" interesting. Ron outspent Romney in Nevada overall since Jan 1st yet Romney leads that category by a huge, huge margin. He only outspent Ron in NV since last Friday. Maybe the campaign is airing ads too early.

What is shocking about the entrance poll is that for the first time, after 5 states, gingrich is doing better with women than men. Like paul, gingrich has always done best win men, and paul leads men by 5. In a turn of events, it's now the women that are bringing gingrich up. Wow we have back luck lol

"female athletes who came to the event with the intent of hearing Ron Paul speak -- but when they spotted the Romney boys onstage, they instantly forgot about Paul. Katie, a softball player, said the boys were "yummyyy," while another professed that 31-year-old Craig Romney was the hottest. And they weren't just checking out the Romney sons -- one girl interviewed was also quite taken with Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum, who she claimed was "kind of hot."

Personally, I know very few females ( at least younger than my grandmother) who aren't teenagers at heart. They may develop faster/better than males in a lot of ways, but making a reasoned/informed decision about politics is not one of them, IMHO. See Also from article- money/status/fame instantly make ugly men "hot" to women, while men have more reliable judgments of things. If you want someone to honestly tell you how something/someone looks or who a trustworthy man is, ask a man.
