The only reason I post this here is that these figures were referenced and discussed in Ron's interview with Piers Morgan.
My main argument here is that the jobless figures are at least somewhat skewed or falsified.
My mom works with a glass company in North Carolina that received a contract to do all the glass work for a major new project based out of Obama's "Put America to Work" plan. As some of you may know, when a company is hired out to do such work, the general contractor will sometimes require a list of your employees who will work on their project. This is just fine, but for this particular project, the glass company was asked to submit all employees working on the project as "new hires". My mom thought this was strange, so she contacted the person in charge of this information at the contracting company and was given the run around before finally being told that this was mandatory. When my mom asked for more details, she was kicked off the phone and has since been unable to speak to anyone else at the contracting company about this information.
I realize this could be an isolated incident, because there is no way of knowing without other reports, but it would not surprise me if this was normal for projects funded through the PAW plan. If this is the case, these "new hires" are not actually new employees and would significantly pad the administrations numbers of "jobs created".
Has anyone else heard of similar stories? If so it couldn't hurt to compile them and try and get it to drudge. It's worth a try.
