We will be our own undoing if we continue to allow our passions run unchecked.

The message of liberty and truth is a powerful message and one that evokes a deep passion in human beings. It speaks to a very primal element in ourselves and causes a great sensation of thought and emotion. To truly be free is perhaps the utopia.

But passion should be tempered with reason and consideration. For only through reason can we proceed along a civil path. Without reason passion is often destructive and chaotic; like all forces it follows the path of least resistance: impulse. Consideration is the forethought that enables civil decision making and is part of the foundation of interpersonal communication, indeed civilization.

Reason and Consideration bring focus and order to this passion and allow us to direct it to achieve a common goal.

Just as well those who are new to the board or movement should not be given a pair of rose colored glasses. A message like Dr. Paul's will atract people from all walks of life and belief. Them must accept that as part of the whole.

We are not all alike.
We do not think the same about all topics.
We do not agree on every position.
We do not follow the same path.

Though one item is sure.

We all want to see Dr. Ron Paul elected to the Presidency.

To achieve that we must echo his message and educate other voters of his message. We must not insert our own message or agenda into his as a newcomer would not be able to tell the difference and the newcomer may disagree with our message and dismiss Dr. Paul because of it.

That being said this section of the forum is titled "General Politics & Other" and while it is not a democratic board the title would lead anyone to believe that this is an open topic area; subject only to the standards indicated in the sticky at the top: Welcome to the Off Topic Forum (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=40).

If you want certain topics to be limited or not discussed entirely common internet forum etiquette would require you to post these limitations in that sticky.

Oh and "soft" is much too ambiguous.

Otherwise any sort of censorship, outside of spam removing, is bad and makes this board no better than Hannity's board.

My two bits.
