Palin: I'd Still Vote for Newt
Tuesday, 31 Jan 2012 09:07 PM
By Newsmax Wires
Former presidential candidate and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said now that Mitt Romney has won the Florida primary, it's time to end the negative campaigning and focus "on what's important as we go forward."
Palin, in an interview with Fox News, said the negative rhetoric "didn't paint the party or the cause in good colors."
She also said it was very difficult for Newt Gingrich to recover from the barrage of negative advertising.
"Seventeen million dollars spent in one state, that's a lot of darts and arrows thrown in one direction and a lot of darts and arrows thrown in the other," Palin said. Comparing Gingrich's experience in the Florida campaign to a boxing match, she continued, "When the bell is rung, it's very tough to unring that bell, regardless of surrogates."
In response to Fox News' questions, Palin again dodged the issue of who she will endorse, or vote for if she were a Nevada resident. Nevada's caucuses are Saturday.
She said if she were a Nevada resident, she'd vote "for whomever it is that allows the process to continue. ... Right now, it still looks as if it's Newt."
Palin said her No. 1 wish was to see a continued debate on the issues and solutions for the nation's problems.
Sarah Palin is such a worm.

Sarah who? You know her decision is basically 90% just based on religion (not voting for a Mormon), and 10% vote neocon who is electable, or else she would support Romney who has the same policies as Gingrich - lol

I think this election season is the end for Palin. She has demonstarted to her fans that she is not interested in running for any office and she is a sellout for any supposed tea party ideals. There really is no reason to listen to her anymore for anyone.

This is actually pretty smart on her part. Rather than getting it over with by endorsing Newt as her choice for the Republican nominee and having the media ignore her for awhile, she is getting them to keep interviewing her by endorsing candidates (i.e. only Newt) on a state-by-state basis.

Wonder if Sarah has asked Callista about open marriage.
I think it's pretty obvious that Newt has bought her support with the offer of a position in his administration (should he be elected).

That doesn't even make any sense. Ron Paul is the only other candidate with ANY presence or organization in NV period. If her goal is to "keep it going" She'd be telling people to vote for Paul in NV so Paul can win one. Paul took 2nd place last time around.

Sarah Palin is just not a Political Whore, but also an Attention Whore, Money Whore, Media Whore, and obviously now, an Elitist Whore. Whoever is the highest bidder... Sarah Sold Her Soul back in 2008 and never looked back.

Pretty much my thoughts , Nevada should go Romney , Paul , I cannot even picture anyone else being a factor . I cannot imagine Gingrich or Santorum being a factor in the next 6 states...... ?

Sarah Mascara can't support anybody who won't support bombing brown people or keeping Israel under our thumb like a submissive protectorate. Classic imperialist with neo-pharisaic tendencies "loves Israel" so long as America dominates them like a client-state. Putting into words how I feel about her is inappropriate for this domain.

Um. All kinds of people have endorsed candidates other than Paul without getting raked over the coals. You just can't get around the fact that Palin claims to be 'tea party' and Gingrich opposes everything the tea party allegedly stands for, and the fact that anybody who endorses Gingrich is pretty much the enemy of everything Paul stands for. By supporting Gingrich, Palin demonstrates herself to be rank hypocrite, and deserves not only ours, but everybody's contempt.

Palin really stepped in it by stating that Gingrich is the rightful heir to the Goldwater and Reagan legacy. She deserves all the criticism she has been receiving for either being (a) incredibly ignorant or (b) duplicitious.

Kind of makes you wonder what the hell Rand said to her in that phone call that earned her endorsement.

Gingrich can have the Reagan legacy. It's about time we expose that fraudulent corpse for what he was - massive supporter of the state who tripled our national debt.

Two polls came out the week before showing Rand with a ~20 point lead in the primary. She endorsed Rand because she wanted to endorse a winner.

As someone else pointed out, Rand was winning. But he also used different rhetoric on foreign policy. See: http://youtu.be/Yn52STCysYI?t=18m

I know he was running on a hawk foreign policy, but whatever Rand said to her mollified her concern regarding his support of Israel.
I agree with you on the crypto-support of Palin some here have. It's baffling. She's never been anything more than a useful idiot for the Republican party.

People trash themselves like Palin has done. She claims to be a tea partier yet supports a guy who is anti-tea party, anti-Constitution, and full of BS. A guy who will do and say anything to get elected. A fake is a fake. Don't get mad at those on this board who point that out.
Now if Palin had legitimate reasons for supporting Newt (like Newt was for real limited government, pro-tea party, etc.) over Ron, then sure she speaks her own mind. But apparently she doesn't and has been bought out. I'm still calling fraud. Palin is willing to put all her principles aside because she believes Newt is the only one who can beat Obama in a stupid fake debate - that's straight from her mouth. Yet, she completely ignores that fact that Newt is hated nationally and has a unfavorable of 60%. How is he electable?

This x1000.
Palin gets all the criticism that she deserves. She's a tea-party sellout.

For my, its not that she endorsed someone else, it's who she endorsed, the epitome of a DC insider, from a so called Tea Party rep. She is done.
If she wants to pander to the establishment then so be it, but she is only going to lose support on the ground. This also speaks to her judgement of character. She ill never win another election fairly, she might be able to buy one though.
She would have been better by endorsing Gary Johnson then playing the party line.
