I don't think the campaign should have said anything. If the story ends up different from what was reported then it will look bad for the campaign. I'm thinking of Obama and him saying "The police acted stupidly" comment.

Yes, Gingrich will try to turn this into something it's not...and the media will 'toe the line'... :D

I just read this. Appalling. I hope Mr. Dillard SUES the crap out of Gingrich and his cronies.

there was a ton of media there and I have read 5 or 6 first hand descriptions and they all sound the same. But I agree they shouldn't have asked Gingrich to apologize. Disciplining/terminating the person who called on the crowd to step on a barefoot guy's toes, now, I think is fair game. I think the campaign reacted so sharply because Gingrich was such a tool to Ron, earlier, on top of Ron habitually being fairly protective of us, honestly.

Sounds funny at first but when you think about it,rather unpleasant.

For a flip-flopper like Newt it was too close to home.

Rudy was very polite in dealing with Ron Paul supporters. He didn't send his goons after them. He just laughed and remarked, "they're everywhere".

So you'd better believe this is inappropriate. I appreciate the campaign trying to stick up for our supporters.

I had a Rudy goon sent after me, but he was at least nice about it.

Giuliani was there on 911

haha Rudy. I still don't know why his campaign collapsed. He was a huge front runner all the way almost up until Iowa.Seriously does anyone know ? It's like he wanted to lose.

Rudy was the national front runner, but he never had a chance in Iowa and he knew it. Rudy 08 was banking on Florida, surviving the first four states (Nevada was before Florida last go around), and his strategy failed miserably when McCain's surge began in NH.

I wonder what it would do to Newt's campaign if one of us was shaking his hand and asked a question he didn't like and he lost it and slugged the person and it happened on live TV....
