This is great news. Some rich billionaire libertarians joining Paul. Finally!

Peter Thiel is great guy who did a lot of work to promote libertarian ideas. This could have huge impact. Best news in weeks if not months.

Another article which labels Ron Paul's foreign policy as "isolationist".

Getting bored of this smear now.

So, Ron's still an isolationist because he'd rather trade and travel than drop bombs and build overseas bases. And is it true that these guys are spending those millions all on internet advertising? What a tremendous waste of money if true. As if Ron needs more internet support. If you're not on television, you're not a real candidate.

I read somewhere else that Ron has been on TV in nevada for months. I live in Las Vegas and haven't seen one Ron Paul television ad yet. Hard to believe what you read these days.

They edited down Thiels statement from

“Too often in this country we learn things the hard way—whether it’s putting your nest egg in overvalued stocks, borrowing more than your house is worth, or amassing a mountain of student debt to pay for a degree with no real job prospects. With its unsustainable deficits, government spending is heading down the same path. Men and women who want freedom and growth should take action. A good place to start is voting for Ron Paul.”

A bit too much truth for Reuters :D

It's always been a liberty dream to court some libertarian billionaire (not neo-libertarians, like the Koch bros) into starting a PAC they could directly fund, or better, get them to run for President or VP themselves. Has the great day come at last?

They sure must have a lot of money to blow 1.4 in FL lol. I still wish they would have used that money elsewhere since FL was a lost cause, but 1.4 mil is apparently pocket change to them. This is huge, as Ron needs all the loot he can get right now, and gives him good competition with that Adleson creep who kisses up to Newt.

Have to remember where they made their money. It was not from TV it was from internet. That is the market they know well and that is why they probably have been slow to leap to TV advertising.

Unfortunately, Ron is already president of the internet. it is in trw where he needs promotion.

whose money is it again?

I think they don't know everything we know about where Ron Paul is and isn't covered, but they might be spending where they have discounts/accounts already, too.

(Reuters) - Co-founders of online U.S. payment service PayPal, now owned by eBay Inc, donated to the Super PAC funding group supporting Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul, the group Endorse Liberty disclosed on Tuesday.

PayPal co-founders Peter Thiel and Luke Nosek and Scott Banister, an early adviser and board member, put their support behind the Endorse Liberty Super PAC, alongside Internet advertising veteran Stephen Oskoui and entrepreneur Jeffrey Harmon, who founded Endorse Liberty in November.

Texas congressman Ron Paul, a libertarian, has been an unconventional candidate for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination, advocating an isolationist brand of foreign policy and a $1 trillion cut in the U.S. government's budget.

"Too often in this country we learn things the hard way ... With its unsustainable deficits, government spending is heading down the same path. Men and women who want freedom and growth should take action. A good place to start is voting for Ron Paul," Thiel said in a statement.

From what I've read, they were using Florida to test the best methods get to word out. The infomercial was one of those tests. I'm expecting that there is a lot more coming after Florida. Will be interesting to see ...

Who said it's 'all'? They're extremely rich. Just because they spent 1.4 million in Florida does not mean they can't spend plenty elsewhere.

Odds are, for most people, if you spend $5 on dinner, you're still able to buy dinner for the rest of the month.

1.4M is like half what they raised, according to the article.

No, it's better than nothing. But their money could be spent better. Let's not pretend like these men are dumb and don't know how to do anything offline. These are very intelligent people. But it's even easier than it sounds because they could just donate to Rev PAC or something.

1.4M is like half what they raised, according to the article.Well I know they spent at least a million before that elsewhere.
