I tried searching for this topic, but didn't find much. I have the domain saved through godaddy, but I'm open to using anything if its user friendly. I just want something that's quick and easy. Thanks!

Depends on what kind of content and interactivity you want.

Want something static, GoDaddy has WebSite Tonight. Google has Google Sites. Plenty of others too.

A little more interactivity, try Tumblr or WordPress.

Dynamic content and a forum, vBulletin Publishing Suite.

Yeah, it depends on the type of site. For example, to make a blog just get a host with CPanel and Fantastico (e.g. Hostgator) and your blog can be up in seconds.

There are freeware versions of website editors. I really liked Dreamweaver as it let me make the website without knowing the code, then when I started learning html/java it became a bit easier to tweak certain sections to my liking. I can get a copy if needed just pm me.

If it's your first time, try something free, that way you can work through the learning process without it costing you the money that you'll be able to put to better use after getting rid of the kinks.... call it a practice run.

Some more information for you guys. This website will be dedicated to fantasy baseball. I don't really need anything fancy, just a central place people can see all the various leagues I'm running and the open spots for people looking to join. Listing of the league format, rules, and cash prizes. Just some basic information like that and a place to contact me.

** I do run a league devoted to Ron Paul fans so keep that in mind if any of you are interested

WordPress may be all you need.

Or if you want more interaction, use a bulletin board. This one is powered by vBulletin but it costs money. PhpBB, ProBoards and InvisionFree are all free. But you need still a place to host them.

I would install a content management system (CMS). Wordpress has already been mentioned, Joomla and Drupal are good choices as well (all of them are free to use). You can have a site up and running in less than a day. Plus there are plenty of modules you can upload to add extra features to your site and there are loads of free themes to choose from.

Something similar to this site would work. They have a lot more drop down menus than I would need, but i do like their count to opening day clock. :)

The easiest way? Many ideas have been offered to you, but I guess you don't consider them the easiest way. The absolute easiest way is to hire someone to make it for you. For the kind of site you are talking about, it wouldn't cost much at all. I design web sites if you're interested.

yes download wordpress is probably the easiest way. The "suffusion" theme is pretty user friendly and you can customize about any aspect... I use suffusion for most of my sites

Hi Eric. :) I tried to send you a PM, but it says your inbox is full. I see you've already had a few web designers offer to help you, but please let me know if you still need help. In fact, I have something right now that might work out perfect for you, so if you clear your PM box, I can tell you about it. Thanks!

I'm really liking this one so far, although it is a pay to play site. I'm doing the 2 week trial jazzing up a webpage, still not sure I'm going to bite on it.

WordPress is free?

yes, just like blogspot.com ,you can get a free wordpress.com site.

you can also get your own domain, and install wordpress manually (but then you'd pay both a domin registeration and hosting fee, which I dont recommend for starters)
