I think what many people don't realize is how interconnected the banking industry is with MSM. The is important for a number of reasons... Ron wants to end the FED. The mega-banks ABSOLUTELY don't want this to happen as they need the Fed to prop up their business model. Therefore it's logical to assume what the mega-banks don't want, the MSM doesn't want. Notice that Newt got raked over the coals from the MSM after he brought up the idea of reviewing a gold standard in the first Florida debate? Coincidence? I think not. Yes...Newt's a buffoon...but the MSM could have been taking more serious shots at him a lot sooner.
What's interesting in the MSM is that they have board of directors that sit on both the MSM company's board and other companies (including banks). Obviously a conflict of interest. Below are just the examples, I could find mostly from: (somewhat incomplete and out-of-date)

ABC/Disney shares directors with:
City National Bank
NBC/GE:
Banco Nacional de Mexico
Chase Manhattan
Morgan Gauranty Trust
New York Stock Exchange (not a bank but super connected with the banks)
State Street Bank and Trust
CBS/Viacom:
American Express
Bank One
Bear Sterns Companies (used to be)
Chase Manhattan
Credit Suisse First Boston Corp.
Morgan Chase & Co.
MBIA
New York Stock Exchange
CNN/TimeWarner:
American Express
Citigroup
Fannie Mae
Morgan Stanley Dean Witter
New York Stock Exchange
Fox/News Corp:
Allen & Company
New York Stock Exchange
Rothschild Investment
Newspapers are pretty much in the same boat as you can see by clicking the website above. Now this doesn't even count the executives that have ties to the banking industry, stocks that influential people in MSM have in the banks and the dependency the MSM's parent corporations have on banks for short term capital. Scary stuff.
