Why not show The Power of Nightmares?

It's one of the best organized, most accurate and interesting documentaries I've ever seen. After watching it, the viewer has a VERY deep understanding of radical Islam and, more importantly, neoconservatism.

It's an EXTREMELY powerful flick. It might make sense for a PAC to push it instead of Freedom to Fascism or For Liberty. Ron Paul isn't mentioned in the film, but the its a Red Pill film. Once someone views the film, his thought process and belief system will be fundamentally changed and there's no going back. The only logical step after watching it is to repudiate the endless-war ideology espoused by the various chickenhawks in the Neocon wing of the Republican Party.

That is a fantastic show, but I don't remember it clearly enough to say it should come from Ron's Pac, either. I seem to recall it was from a very secular point of view and seemed to make fun of deep religious belief, whether Muslim or evangelical. But it was a FANTASTIC documentary if you are capable of just taking the good and filtering out what you don't agree with.

True. You could say it comes from a secular point of view, but it really showed how neoconservatives took advantage of evangelicals and how radical jihadist tried - and failed, for the most part - to win over moderate Muslims through violence and less than honest means.

It's really an amazing piece that basically shows how two different ideologies -radical Islam, and neoconservatism- were created by a small group of individuals to prevent the moral decay of society that they witnessed in the 1950's and 1960's. Very interesting stuff.

It has so much educational value and has such a strong anti-NeoCon/ anti-Jihadist stance that.... basically pulls back the curtain and lays out the absurdity of our current "class of civilizations." I can't imagine watching it and coming away supporting anyone not named Ron Paul. :-)

I just posted about that yesterday! It's in full on youtube:

Unfortunately, it turns into a very pro-Clinton tirade, especially in part 3 IIRC.

I read where Griffin warns about its pro-collectivist bias (http://www.freedomforceinternational.org/freedomcontent.cfm?fuseaction=power_nightmares&refpage=issues), but he said it's still worth watching.

He sums it up well, I think.

It's impossible to overstate how important the film is though, for accurately showing the origins of both modern radical Jihadism as well as the neoconservative movement.

For what it's worth Century of the Self, which deals primarily with public relations as crafted by Edward Bernays, is also amazing.

It's much easier to understand politics, demagoguery, media, and advertising if you've spend some time watching these two documentaries by Adam Curtis.
