Interesting..

I love how CNN preemptively attack the governor just in case this ends with an endorsement.

Endorsement or not, you know it´s going well when the governor asks to met you. Would not have happened last time around.

I think this could end up being really good news. We have a decent shot at winning Maine, an endorsement would put us over the top and potentially make us the odds-on favorite.

I don't see this as an attack? Heck it made me smile to read the Gov. stating he didn't pander to special interest groups.

Judging by the comments here, hxxp://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/01/14/paul-lepage-naacp-kiss-my-butt-video_n_809234.html, one would get the impression LePage is not that popular up there. This will be interesting to see play out.

"The NAACP can kiss my butt" .........."My son is black".

Not really an attack, but linking him to controversy. I didn't see it as necessary at all, but they could argue that it's what got him national headlines or something.

The MSM will not report on the endorsement even if it was made.

any state that put a "Tea Party" candidate in a major office in 2010 is a good starting point - the inversion of "Tea Party" didn't happen until later

In a blue state Paul may be a good endorsement because he pulls from indies and dems so much.

The best endorsements of course would be Romney and Newt. In time. :)

It's actually very possible he could endorse. He isn't scared to speak his mind. I was in Maine right after he was elected during the "kiss my butt". I have a lot of respect for him, he panders to nobody.

Folks you are out of your mind if you don't get excited by an endorsement by a sitting governor. This would make us that much more mainstream and encourage other governors, senators and u.s. representatives to step in following states.

Seems Ron is on a great start here in ME. The Gov's endorsement would be great, but the crowds here seem to really like him and his message alot and seem well informed. Man, sure hope he can pull it off up there, would be a great boost. I just wish ME was sooner, as in, right after NV or something.

Yeah and everyone on HuffPo is a "liberal" Democrat unless they specifically say otherwise. LePage is a Republican.

He's popular with Republicans. You have to understand politics up there. The governor race was a 5 way race with 3 independents. He won with 30 some percent, so if his approval rating is 30-40, that's good as a Republican.

It's exactly like New Hampshire. New voters and Unenrolled voters (those not registered with any party) can register Republican at the caucus.
