View Full Version : The media wants Obama to win in 2012: Republican voters are being manipulated

A quick look at these pie charts show what the Republican party is up against:
http://www.270towin.com/2012-polls/

Whoever the Republicans nominate MUST take a sizeable amount of independent votes to win. In fact, they must take most independent votes. Period. There is no way around it.

What is going to draw independent votes? What is going to bring them out to vote for the Republican candidate?
CHANGE.

Does Romney offer this change? Like Obama, he is pro-war. He is big government. He supports mandates. He is backed by banks. He has nice rhetoric but a past that does not match what he says. He supported TARP. Independent voters will quickly realize he is more of the same on the issues that might draw them out. Perhaps some will vote Romney but can he garner enough of the independent vote? Again, look at the charts. He would need most. He incites little passion, his record is inconsistent. He couldn't beat McCain who couldn't beat Obama. The media knows this and they push him anyway.

Then there's Newt. Half the country dislikes him. You can check recent favorability polls here:
http://polltracker.talkingpointsmemo.com/contest/us-favorability-gingrich

He cannot win against Obama. A vote for Newt in any primary is a vote for Obama in the general election. Besides the fact that he is not even on all the ballots for the primaries, America simply does not like Newt. How is it possible for someone disliked by half the country to take all the Republican votes plus the independent votes? And the dislike isn't a passing thing, it's a consistent dislike. His past corruption, his lobbying, his insider status, his inability to keep a marriage vow- all of these things work against him. Nominating Newt is a guaranteed win for Obama.

What about Rick Santorum? He carries quite a few (but not all) evangelical voters. In the last election independents voted for Obama. Evangelicals are core supporters of the Republican party thus Santorum has a ceiling of support that lies within the Republican party that does not extend to the general population. In reality independents will not turn out to vote for a fundamentalist. And, like Newt, Santorum isn't on all the ballots making his run futile and a distraction. His presidential bid is merely diluting the primary votes so that conservative voters don't decide the nomination as the conservative votes are split between Santorum and Paul while fake conservatives like Romney and Newt, both with a history of supporting liberal policies, dominate the primaries. Santorum is the fly in the ointment- his presence enabling yet another year where Republicans nominate a Republican who acts conservative when he seeks office but in action has been anything but conservative. This splits the conservative vote during the nomination process and is the very reason the Republican party might, once again, end up nominating a non-conservative who doesn't rally soft supporters to get out and vote Republican.

That leaves Ron Paul. The doctor and air force veteran. The man who has stood alone for decades in Congress, proposing legislation that was ignored by his more corrupt colleagues and would have prevented our economic crisis. The man who has never voted for a tax increase, an unbalanced budget or any legislation that would limit the rights of the people. The man who explained in 2002, in a speech on the floor of the House, that we were in a real estate bubble that would collapse creating a crisis. The man who warned us against invading Iraq on weak intelligence and was proven correct. The man who earned the nickname "Dr. No" because of his refusal to vote for any legislation that he deemed unconstitutional. A man with the character to not vote for popular legislation because he understands that the Constitution was designed to keep us from making rash decisions that would eventually create a too big to fail government and loss of rights. He stood alone on behalf of every American.

The respect he has earned for having the integrity and strength to do what he has consistently done is not a media story. This is because the media knows that if they provided fair coverage, if his positions were covered accurately, if Americans knew the complete story of Dr. Ron Paul he would win in a landslide. His philosophy brings us all together. His stance on civil liberties and war would not only take the independent vote but it would also take votes away from Obama who would look like the phony he is in a one on one debate with a real constitutional scholar. No other candidate can do this. At the same time, his history of real fiscal conservatism, his wisdom in foreseeing the problems we now face and the fact he is the only one offering real solutions to preserve our country and our rights for future generations means conservatives will come out to vote for him. Reagan won by attracting the left and right. Paul can do the same. In fact, Reagan endorsed Paul and Paul is one of only 4 Republicans who immediately endorsed Reagan's run when the establishment was laughing at Reagan.

Ron Paul stands alone in his ability to challenge Obama. Paul has a past of no corruption. He has no relationship with the lobbyists that dictate our policies unlike all the other candidates running on the left and right. His ethics are further demonstrated in his refusal to partake in Congressional benefits packages during his 12 terms in Congress, his decree that he will take only $39,000/year in pay as President as that is what the average American earns, and the fact that he returns money to the treasury that is leftover from his Congressional budget every year. These ethics are who he is as they are further exemplified in his private life where, as an obstetrician, he refused to accept government medical payments like Medicaid. Instead he opted to treat all those who couldn't pay for free, turning none away and instituted a policy in his office that all of his patients were to be treated equally regardless of their financial situations. That is integrity and compassion. That is walking your walk. And that is the type of person the media ignores, ridicules and spits on as they opt to push other candidates who do not represent real change and who will most likely be defeated by Obama. To back up my claims of media bias you need only ask yourself how aware you were, before reading what I wrote here, of the real Dr. Paul and why they aren't talking about what I just did. Or accept the reality that we'll have 4 more years of Obama if we allow the cheerleading for big government media to do our thinking for us.

He couldn't beat McCain who couldn't beat Obama.

I don't agree with that logic. First of all, Obama is not the same candidate this time around. He was running on potential in 2008, but he will be forced to run on his results in 2012. Secondly, winning over the Republican base in the GOP primaries is not a guarantee of winning over the independents in the general election. See Newt Gingrich who only appeals to his party's base. It is entirely possible that Newt could somehow win the Republican nominee but he would very likely lose to Obama in a massive landslide. I agree with you that Romney is too much like Obama, but head-to-head polling shows that Romney is electable, primarily because he appeals to independents... like Ron.

Nice work putting this together!

Republicans need to be made aware of this

Yep.

That has nothing to do with their hatred of Ron Paul. Rush and the other neocons truly think that Romney and Gingrich can beat Obama, they aren't part of some conspiracy to re-elect Obama. Neocons believe that Obama is so hated by most Americans that any Republican can beat him except Ron Paul because Rasmussen keeps putting out this bogus poll that claims Paul does the worst against Obama. There is no conspiracy by the GOP to lose to Obama. They are simply unaware that Gingrich especially is a loser candidate nationally because he's despised by Independents.

Very well written with important points. I will send this to others. Thanks!

I think more people on this forum should write articles and post them here, instead of just videos, pictures, and articles posted elsewhere.

We have smarter people here than in the media.
