Read this article:

Obama signed ACTA in 2010, and it was approved by the European Union yesterday. This is an international agreement to not only silent Free Speech on the Internet here and abroad it will give a big problem to Generic Drugs from being able to come into this country and the US Congress who never even debated this bill ACTA may be bound to it.

The scary part is as you keep reading is that Obama signed it last year without ANY Congressional Approval.

As you can see by this petition which has just come up today, THE SOCIAL NETWORK TWITTER HAS ALREADY BEGUN TO SILENCE FREE SPEECH.

From a Generic Drug Business Editors blog:
http://genericdrugsbusiness.blogspot.com/2009/08/oxfams-fears-over-acta-and-generics.html

In a press release issued just before the fifth round of negotiations for the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA) got under way in Morocco, Oxfam warned of its fears that the final agreement could lead to generic firms being subject to criminal prosecutions for sending generics to countries in need (see p. 4). However, the likelihood of such an outcome from ACTA is open to question. Of course, on the face of it, ACTA is not concerned with generic drug markets, or indeed the provision of legitimate drugs, whether branded or generic, to developing countries. According to the Office of the US Trade Representative, its roots lie in a desire to tackle the proliferation of counterfeit and pirated goods around the world.

The internet provisions are not so "friendly".

Obama can't enforce this unless he submits it to the senate, and gets 2/3

I could have sworn I'd seen videos where campaigning he said he would end the big pharma drug monopoly which was bankrupting medicare and let cheaper drugs come in.

He and Bush both have ignored that on several issues. And I agree, it is unconstitutional. THIS time I understand the Senate is asking it be sent there to be voted on but the White HOuse is trying to say it doesn't need to be (the copyright one).
