Go Register! Open primary, so it doesn't matter which party you register as supporting. But you must ask for a Republican ballot on the day of the election:

Ohio is a 'semi-open' primary. If you are a democrat you can ask for a republican ballot, but you still have to fill out a change party affiliation form. And they might challenge you, sometimes they won't always let you change parties.

Done. I moved in between elections and decided to be an anarchist until just now.

The registration form does not list any parties or ask for party affiliation. What am I missing?

What is the process to switch parties for people who are already registered?

There is no party registration in Ohio. Everyone is just registered to vote. That's it.

I have only voted once and that was this past November because I wanted to vote for issue 2. When the lady at the voting location asked me which party I wanted to register as, I said Conservative party even though I did not vote for any candidates. Is there a chance of me having any problems voting for Dr. Paul? Thank you for your help.

The following info from your link is what concerned me in the first place.

“Before any challenged person shall be allowed to vote at a primary election , the person shall make a statement, under penalty of election falsification, before one of the precinct officials, blanks for which shall be furnished by the board of elections, giving name, age, residence, length of residence in the precinct, county, and state; stating that the person desires to be affiliated with and supports the principles of the political party whose ballot the person desires to vote; and giving all other facts necessary to determine whether the person is entitled to vote in that primary election. The statement shall be returned to the office of the board with the pollbooks and tally sheets . . . . “

You will have no problem voting for Ron Paul. They just want to scare people away but the form you will have to sign means absolutely nothing. If you sign a form saying you are a Republican, what does that even mean? It doesn't mean anything and there's nothing they can do to you.

That is good news, thank you.
