left slanted POLITICO reports this today, I question their timing, to paint Kelly as a vulture on today's resignation of Gifford from the House of representatives.

Ariz. Republican Jesse Kelly enters race to succeed Gabrielle Giffords
By ALEX ISENSTADT (http://www.politico.com/reporters/AlexIsenstadt.html) | 1/24/12 5:35 PM EST
It looks like Arizona Republican Jesse Kelly has entered the race to replace departing Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.
Kelly, a tea party-aligned candidate who fell short to Giffords in 2010, filed his statement of candidacy form (http://query.nictusa.com/cgi-bin/dcdev/forms/C00460808/759281/) with the Federal Election Commission today.
He's the first candidate to enter the special election contest. Republicans say several others are looking at the race, including state Sen. Frank Antenori and radio sports announcer Dave Sitton. Interested Democrats include state Senate Minority Whip Paula Aboud and state Reps. Steve Farley and Matt Heinz.

I am in this Congressional District. I am not really sure what is "libertarian" about Jesse Kelly. Seems like a run of the mill GOP candidate to me.

Jesse Kelly's ideology - if you can call it that - is better described as mixing equal parts Rick Santorum and Rudy Giuliani.

I was endorsed by Ron Paul in the 2010 race here, and I assure you that he is, in fact, about the farthest thing from a libertarian Republican you can find: pro-Iraq War, pro-AFG War, pro-Drug War, doesn't know how to spell FED, "moral majority" fire-breather...

Barry Goldwater, Jr initially endorsed him (JK's M.O. is to tell you what you want to hear). Barry subsequently learned more about his positions and actually rescinded his endorsement. That never happens.

It is reprehensible enough to support someone like that and say you advocate liberty. It is a whole other low to encourage people here to support him based on disinformation.

Hi Brian! I used to be one of your fans on facebook during your 2010 race. Great to see you here.

There is plenty of videos on youtube regarding Kelly. I am pretty sure you will be able to see for yourself what kind of candidate he is rather quickly.
