Government Hampers Citizens wishing to Help with Disaster

It's heartening to see we have people in this country who are willing to step in during a disaster and help, but not so heartening to see them being turned away and even arrested for doing so:

With volunteers who go ahead dealing with physical objects without any sort of government coordination, stuff like this happens:


Now he has 500 bags of glop in his yard, and he has no idea how to get rid of it.

The volunteers shouldn't have been doing what they were doing without making sure they had somewhere to get rid of the junk.

I'm not sure if anyone noticed that came down from DHS a few weeks ago. Volunteers now have to go through DHS in the case of a disaster.
