View Full Version : What do you do about Moles?

Recently we had a Ron Paul/Thomas Massie meetup here in Louisville and Ky and we had a couple of moles from the establishment GOP there. We didn't know for sure that they were moles till after the meetup. We luckily did avoid some information, but they know we are going to precinct conventions. Basically my question is what can you do about already existing moles and what to do about possible new ones?

Thanks for all the helpful advice. ;) Maybe the moderators can take time out of their day to fix it. In the mean time maybe I can get some real replies.

Just giving you a hard time. How did you find out afterwards that they weren't RP supporters?

tight inner circle of trusted individuals that decides strategy

don't pass the whole strategy to group... but rather break it into bits and give your ground troops directions.

If you suspect them to be a mole exclude them from your group. Tell them they are not welcome. You don't have to accept everyone that comes in since you are a private group working to elect Ron Paul.

Crazy huh? I didn't even notice it because I was more concerned with what he was saying than his grammar. I mean this is the age of acronyms used to the extreme in texting and on forums and some people still get hung up on grammar? We aren't writing a novel here folks we are just communicating!

Crazy huh?

Like I said, I was just giving him a hard time. I'm sure my posts are peppered with mistakes, too.

To answer the question in a more serious fashion, I think we need to get to know the people around us better and ask them questions about Paul and the other candidates. Not everyone has their s*** together, but it's not terribly hard to tell a BS answer when you get one. Or you could simply try to implement a blood oath at your gathering.

Well I recognized the guy from a UofL college republican meeting (which doesn't mean anything). So I asked him about it and he said he was a Newt fan but has been coming around to Ron Paul. Then a little later on one of our guys in our group who goes the republican meetings and was updating him on the rules recognized him as well as being on one of the committee's. The mole confessed to it but it necessarily mean he was a mole. Him and his friend, who was a girl who said she works as an intern for Rand Paul in his Louisville office, were writing down everything we said though. Switching between each other when their hands got tired. Afterwards I looked them up and added them on FB. The guy has nothing on RP and only stuff on Gingrich. Not to mention his brother is really high up in the republican party and he is FB friends with everyone on the local republican committee's. When I asked the two mole's how they found out about the meetup at the meeting, they were part of the 1 of the 3 FB groups I posted the event to. Went home they were not part of any of them. I asked the guy on FB later how he found out about it. He said a friend but would not reply when I asked what friend. On Friday after the meeting there was another meeting between some social conservatives in Louisville, a small private meeting that a couple of the people in my group are part of. There he is again showing up writing everything down without any of them knowing how he heard about the meeting. So the problem is we have moles. I can ban them but it looks like there is someone else informing them of the meetings and I'm not sure how to locate them either.

So I have thought about disseminating the information (like they did in the "Moon is a Harsh Mistress). Another thing I could do is just keep the main information about who we have for each precinct to myself and a couple of trusted others. The last idea I came up with is just don't worry about the moles..hope to convert them but if not just push on past them. Recommendations?

Also I know Edward is just ribbing me, no big deal.

What are the potential downsides if they are infiltrating? What could they do to harm the intentions of the group?

In 08 and 04 they establishment republicans would change rules to give them the upperhand based on our plans.

I would treat him with respect/kindness and not jump to conclusions. Even if he doesn't like Ron, try to get him on board with Thomas.

I have been but I really don't need someone coming there lying about who he is and going back and reporting to some of the establishment republicans about what we are planning.

Moles will not be willing to put in work or give money. Give them the most time consuming labor intensive expensive work thats within reason. If they refuse then tell them they will have to go somewhere else cause your meetup is about action and perticipation, not sideline watching.

set a trap for them or poison. also i was thinking that, everyone is a ron paul supporter they just dont all know it yet. Because everyone loves freedom and wants to be free. In sales if someone isnt buying, its never the objection they say, its always that you havent built enough value in the product. More value.

Just ask.

A few times in my forty years I've asked someone who didn't like me, in a respectful tone, "what do you have against me?" This put them on the defensive and I must admit, I loved putting them on the spot and watching the denial :)

I'd very nicely and without any ill-intent or paranoia, say, "I've seen your posts on facebook are all pro Newt and in public you never seem to be a Ron Paul fan except here... I was just curious what your intent is at these meeting when you're taking notes?" Let that linger for a moment to let him squirm. He may start denying that he was spying. Then politely finish, "Why the guilty conscience? I was just wondering if there a specific issue that hasn't let you seal the deal with Ron Paul, such as foreign policy?" But I like facing issues head on.

BTW this forum has its share of moles and shills running around it too.

Or, heh heh heh, on his facebook page (where he campaigns for Newt) ask him on the public part of his message board how he thought the last Ron Paul meeting went and what he thinks of Ron Paul's stance against the NDAA.

tight inner circle of trusted individuals that decides strategy

don't pass the whole strategy to group... but rather break it into bits and give your ground troops directions.

This can backfire, because it assumes that the tight inner circle is trustworthy. This is exactly how the enemy works: The guys at the top have a better idea of the big picture, and the peons in government agencies and NGO's carry out small parts of a strategy, without realizing how it all fits together for evil.

In short, a secretive top-down structure is extremely dangerous and vulnerable to being coopted...not a fan.

Moles will not be willing to put in work or give money. Give them the most time consuming labor intensive expensive work thats within reason. If they refuse then tell them they will have to go somewhere else cause your meetup is about action and perticipation, not sideline watching.

This is a much more reliable indicator: If they're putting in work, they're useful, regardless of whether they're "undercover agents." If they're not putting in work, they're not so useful. The only reason a mole would put in work is to build up trust, which they can betray at the worst possible moment. (For instance, moles would be willing to put in TONS of work in groups with top-down structure, so they can gain leadership positions and screw everyone later.)

Tell them not to write anything down so they can really listen. If they don't tell them goodbye they are not welcome.

If they found your meetup on facebook, more than likely they are reading what you just posted. Just saying.

Don't sweat it too much and keep doing what you are doing.

Befriend them and convert them. Every single Republican can be converted. They just don't know it yet. Now, socialist-leaning liberals will be harder to convert. But every Republican has their issue and they can be shown how much better Ron Paul will be than any of the other guys.

I get the drift of what your saying. Weird though that things are the way things are in the Republican Party.

I posted a little story in another thread topic on some local newly elected volunteers (2008)experience with the inner workings;

Walk up to him/them and abruptly but politely tell him what you suspect to be the truth, FB lies and all, and then tell him that if he is a mole then he should understand why he is not wanted but if he is truly interested in the RP platform and possible support to stick around. Watch the look on his face. We are different. We are not afraid. Don't give him the precinct captain info. Mossad and NY RNC cocaine mafia wanted it desperately in 08 to run a blackmail op using the compromised children of whatever precinct captain they could cross reference to IP's on a gay.teen.sex.images yahoo group., and got shut down. Tell him you are guarding precinct captain info because foreign intelligence agencies have been trying to get it to upset the balance of American politics and that is highly illegal under NDAA. Play him like a violin.

Well the guy has since defriended me on FB. Found that out this morning. I think he knows that I know he is a mole and got what info he could and got out. We'll find out if they send a different person the next time. In the meantime I'm still going to find out about the girl who came with him. She said she interns for Rand.

Um, just be careful. In case they are establishment GOP, the last thing you want to do is say "You're a mole!". Presenting Paul supporters as rational republicans, perhaps even mentioning how good Paul's doing against Obama in the polls while at the meetings may help as well.
