We need a handout that tells them that Ron Paul understands that the growing debt burden threatens Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and the American way of life. Explain how Ron Paul plans to preserve these programs for them.

I agree. We have said this a million times. I think we are going to have to create one.

Seniors want something condensed, professional, and informative.

Definitely...We know we are going do well with the youth vote, and moderately well with middle age people. But where we are truly struggling is with the older crowd. Young people flock to RP's banner instinctively. Older folks are rejecting him without giving him much of a look. We really do need to be targeting these people. Besides, the senior crowd is the bunch that get their news from the MSM, and who definitely go out to vote.

Agree. In a country with an aging population, the movement needs to explain what is in it for them.

What's in it for them is a chance to survive the budget and currency crisis, if they are dependent on the government for economic support.

I'm thinking use the 'mosaic' picture of Ron and on the other side JUST have the budget/social security, medicare, vet benefits info and link to Ron's budget plan. To put in stacks at senior centers and retirement homes and under windshields at churches.

Way to be a collectivist.......WTF is up with these 'old folk' threads lately? You want to convince older voters? Get your ass over to the nearest 'adult' center and talk with them. Bring an absentee ballot.

Yes yes yes, we desperately need an outreach program to the senior vote. We had Farmers for Paul, Latinos for Paul, why not Seniors for Paul? Seniors actually TURN OUT to vote, and if we can court them and convert them, they would be a much more reliable source of votes for us going forward.

Is the campaign simply too busy and too underhanded to handle this outreach to Seniors? It is extremely important. We need something like this quickly.

flyers we can do ourselves, at least. We kept waiting for the campaign to do it and three states have gone by. Let's do it. I'll get back to this tomorrow.

Stop with these protestations already. It's a demographic that needs to be addressed, or it will be an uphill climb the whole way if they vote against us. If we can sway this demographic it's game over, we win. It is a very worthwhile effort to target the people who vote most often.

What's in it for them is a chance to survive the budget and currency crisis, if they are dependent on the government for economic support. But that doesn't really concern them. It is the here and now that affects them. For many elderly people, they are heavily dependent on others. When those others (family and friends) are no longer or able to help, they become dependent of the government for help. Is it their fault? No. So the message would really have to be tailored to them as far as liberty is concerned. Maybe we should understand Erikson's developmental theory of Integrity vs despair to understand how we should target these voters.
