View Full Version : If Romney drops out before VA...

We need Romney and Santorum to drop out as quickly as possible. If it's a two-man race between Ron Paul and Newt, then Paul definitely wins VA (he would be the only candidate on the ballot!) as well as the other states where Newt did not qualify for the ballot.

Newt was winning FL by 20% just last month, and it will probably turn back in that direction again.

If Newt keeps gaining steam and Romney loses both his home state of Michigan and Arizona on February 28, it is possible (though probably not likely), that he will drop out before Super Tuesday on March 6 (which is when VA votes).

More likely is that Romney will drop out a couple of days after Super Tuesday (March 8) like he did in 2008.

Newt is going to beat Romney by 15%-20% in FL, like the polls showed 3 weeks ago. Yes, I'm serious.

Romney's got the money to stay longterm. He's the least likely to drop out. Especially since there's not a clear alternative (yet).

Republicans hate Romney. He will be done soon.

even if he was getting 20% he would stay to keep paul from getting the delegates.

Seriously what world do some of you live in? Between this crap and the people who thought we actually had a chance of winning SC, I'm staring to think that i'm in the wrong place.

Voting 03/06

Seems unlikely that Romney will drop out by then,

Expect the unexpected in this 2012 election.

It's more likely that Palin will come into the race than Romney dropping out... We might be looking at a brokered convention if sucktorum also stays longer

Have you lost your mind? The best thing that could possibly happen is Romney, Newt, and Paul all go to the convention. If you think Romney being the frontrunner is scary, Newt is a fucking nightmare.

I know the feeling. I'm wondering if I will have everybody on this forum on my ignore list before the campaign is over. :p

Newt's not even on the ballot here in Virginia. He can't win anyway - he's nothing but a train wreck. Not only does he have baggage, but so do his wife.

Any wins by Newt are futile. The fact that there are close to 600 delegates he can not even compete for means that he's a wasted voted. All South Carolina has done here is prove that they are retarded and don't pay attention.

Yes, that's why we need a two-man race with Newt.

Exactly. That's what he did in '08, after Super Tuesday.

Yeah, you're jumping the gun quite a bit. Wait for Santorum to drop before banking on Romney to drop lol.

Where have you been? No one has ever liked Romney. 75% of Republicans have always wanted an anti-Romney.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Romney drop out before Gingrich. He has lots of money but who says he's willing to waste it all on his campaign? He'd probably rather just get out of politics to relax and enjoy the rest of his life as a very wealthy man.

This isn't good for a two-man race, though. Gingrich vs Paul wouldn't be as contrasted as Romney vs Paul.

gingrich will just slowly try to copy and take Ron Paul's talking points to try to woo Ron Paul people.

Where can I find a link to this delegate info? I've been looking and I've seen Virginia, Illinois, and Ohio.

I actually don't think this is a dumb thread. I disagree with the OP, but not dumb

Listen, for the longest time the GOP has been searching for the anti-Romney. Well, here it is. Now, the media can run with "Since 1980, every winner of SC has gone on to win." This helps Newt so much. He has the perfect position. The truth is, the GOP is not a fan of Romney. Romney is going to get endorsed by Jeb, so lets see what the does for him in Florida.

One reason why Newt WON'T win the nomination is because he isn't on the ballot in a lot of states.

Romney still wins.

Romney will try to get Rand. Rand will say no.

Romney/Rubio '12.

Rand wins in 2016.

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MOVEMENT!

True. But we already know how the media would spin this:

"Those states don't really matter in the long run."

Yeah, but 500 delegates is 500 delegates.
