Green Papers still shows a 6-6-6-4 split. But my understanding is that it's all up in the air anyway until the state convention.

Does anyone have a link that actually confirms that the Iowa GOP railroaded it so that only Romney and Santorum got delegates? They'd have to change the rules wouldn't they?

Not really sure since the delegates, (that is all of them) are allocated to the candidates but are not required to vote for them. Binding delegates do not happen in caucus states until later on during the process. This is why it is important to have as many RP delegates (because we know who they WILL vote for) Plus it gives us leverage, if enough people see that RP has enough dedicated supporters to tread through the muck of the caucuses to secure enough delegates to win, even party rules won't let them throw away those delegates, it is hard enough to get people simply to caucus, let alone do it 3, 4 or 5 times. Once the RNC hits, if RP has a good showing we could convince a good portion of the non-bound delegates to throw their support behind him as the ONLY candidate to beat Obama. This is been my theory for awhile, but we will see what happens. Texas (155) and California (172) have more delegates than Iowa, NH, SC, and Florida combined. (115). There is so much involved with caucusing after the precinct level that a good portion of people in the US have absolutely no idea that they are not bound until later. (Though this is very much dependent upon state gop rules at the time, (which can be changed in this process as well, so either way we have a good shot.)

NOT only would the party rules have to change it would have to be done in a specific manner that would be very hard for the RP people in The IAGOP not to notice, the top down Authoritarian model in some states doesn't play very well since 2008 when some state tried to disregard Paul's delegates altogether. ;-) guess who the state chair of that GOP is now.... an RP supporter. :-) Irony, we were dedicated enough that in some states we play by the rules, and won by them whether people realize it or not.

OK, thanks for that reassurance. It looks like while they can't deny RP delegates, they might try to make it look like he doesn't have any from Iowa by putting out an "estimated" count that is split between Romney and Santorum.
