Dear [Democrat]
You know, I've never been much into politics until 2001 as most I think. I was always a fan of Reagan, Churchill, and JFK. But what happened after 9/11, actually 9/12 made me perk up. On 9/12, Bush said "freedom and democracy are under attack and freedom will be defended", and everyone bought into that. Then they went on to hijack the fear, use terror alerts, etc as we all know now to fight a war for oil, religious special interests, and the defense industry. I was all for getting OBL in Afghanistan, but not this Iraq or Iran thing which has other motivations. Then I saw the Patriot Act, so aptly named to sell to the people, the dictator-ish actions and sub-laws passed through. A nation in fear as Gehring of the Nazi Party at the Nuremberg trials said, will let its ruler do anything, no matter if democracy or dictatorship.
But all along, I was reading articles and watching Ron Paul, a Libertarian Republican ! from Texas, talk of the Constitution, rule of law, democracy, how we fall into the trap of being bankrupted with our actions, he was the only one who yelled a loud NO to the Iraq War, yelled NO to the Patriot Act, talked about the inflation and upcoming demise of the dollar, loss of liberties, he hearkened back to History...to Rome, to the fall of empires. He lambasted the speaker of the house before the Iraq War saying it was a mistake and would cost trillions and bog us down...and even though there are tax cuts, theres the inflation tax by deficits and printing money out of thin air to pay for wars.
No one else stood alone and even Barack and Hillary are OK with a pre-emptive nuke strike on Iran - do you know why? They are also OK with the Patriot Act?
I have sent Ron's speeches to many over the years...some thought he was the only voice of the people. Little did I ever think he'd run for President, but he did. He is an ob/gyn Doctor who got into politics because of what he saw as the straying from the Constitution and the decoupling of the Gold Standard in the 70's.
And here he is now, a 72 year old statesman, at these GOP debates alone, among the wolves at Fox News and warmongers, arguing with Guiliani who still LIES to everyone who still think 9/11 is because "they hate our freedom", to promote this "war on terror", whereas Ron brought out the CIA agent who tracked OBL who said its our policies in the M.E. that had contributed to 9/11 but no Media coverage on that..., and to this day from 9/12 the government and special interests have hid behind American values.
Furthermore, Ron continually avers that Republicans have been the ones to END WARS, to END wasteful spending, he believes first and foremost in the Constitution, in the people's rights, etc. He thinks the Mexican amnesty voted as OK by BOTH parties [which to me is crazy if we have dirty bomber attack threats?], OK b/c they want a North American Union with Canada and Mexico, with one currency and do not care about the America we all do.
You see to me its like voting for either fascists as the GOP has become or Socialists as the DEMS have become these days - WARFARE v WELFARE, where this left right bicker is the loud and pumping piston that drives the wheels forward for special interests drinking at the trough and big government with less liberties ahead at the expense of national sovereignty and what America stands for.
I made this video last year about the country and its roots - check it out - I didnt even know Ron would run. I think he is as good as a founding father and is the most honorable statesman I have ever seen, he cares about us, has no special interests $$, its all grassroots, and the corporatized media is trying to keep him down and make him look like a long shot - such is about to change.
