lamar Smith, author of SOPA and the moron who wouldn't give the Paul/Frank Marijuana bill a hearing, is now trying to pass this bill:

The Protecting Children from Internet Pornographers Act of 2011

"under language approved 19 to 10 by a House committee, the firm that sells you Internet access would be required to track all of your Internet activity and save it for 18 months, along with your name, the address where you live, your bank account numbers, your credit card numbers, and IP addresses you've been assigned."

this has nothing to do with child porn; this is Hollywood using the backdoor to accomplish what they couldn't front door

They make it to protect the children so people against it sound like they do not want to protect children. Its overused and unfortunately it still works.

It can bring people who hold internet freedom as their top priority into Paul's camp.

Exactly. Only bills written by lobbyists pass Congress.

So, ISP's are supposed to be police agencies now. Hmmm, how much will they get paid for their mandatory slave work? Oh thats right, nothing.

Rep. Lamar Smith [R-TX21], I vomit in your face.

1) category is general politics
2) Ron will vote against this as he should, and the MSM will bring it up and say he wants kiddie porn.

Guess Congress never heard of a proxy or vpn

Btw - this is going to be a non-starter as far as getting grassroots action against it. The bill does not require the isp to retain your internet activity for 18 months - only the temporary ip address that you were assigned, which is why more people will simply move to a proxy. As far as I can tell (from what I read) it is a misguided attempt to stem internet child pornography but it empowers the government to imprison officials of banks who provide the medium for paying for the illicit material. Maybe I'm reading that wrong but that's what it looks like. Plus, once the isp's get a gander at the hardware, software, and personnel costs of this they will rebel.

Guilty until proven Innocent.

If they want to track every move I make every place I go, they better get a fucking warrant.

Only Terrorists and US Politicians hide behind Children.

Considering people have been raided just because they accidentally clicked on a link to Child Pornography, or have gotten viruses that use their PC to traffic it, I think we need a "Protecting Internet Users from Unlawful Arrest Act"
