But give them a specific name instead of a general "third party candidate" (basically anybody besides the major party candidates) and the specific one will probably not get 2/3rd of the votes. They want an alternative but would not likely agree on the same one.

People hate politicians so much that it might just become the "cool" thing to do, no matter who the candidate was.
