GOAL - 20,000 Facebook Pledges for the 2/14 No One But Paul Money Bomb!

On October 19th, 2011, the Ron Paul grassroots hosted its most ambitious money bomb yet, Black This Out. It was a direct attack on the mainsteam media for their repeated attempts at marginalizing Dr. Paul. Nowhere was the bias more apparent than Ron Paul's lack of media coverage and the constant distortions of his positions. On October 19th, by raising almost $3,000,000, we sent a message to the media that they were not relevant anymore and that we were going to win the nomination without them.

How did we achieve this? We used a promotion thread like this one with the sole intent of rallying the grassroots around a single goal, to get 25,000 Ron Paul supporters to pledge to the Black This Out Facebook Event. With the full support of the Ron Paul grassroots, for an entire month we slaved over promotion in order to meet our 25,000 pledge goal. The end result of all this work was almost $3,000,000 in donations to the Ron Paul 2012 presidential campaign.

On February 14th, 2012, we aim to replicate our efforts with our most ambitious money bomb theme yet. The mainstream media and the GOP establishment have long pushed the idea of nominating "Anyone But Paul" to go up against Obama in the general election. They think they have everyone fooled, but there's just one MAJOR thing they're forgetting. THE GOP CANNOT WIN against Obama without Ron Paul's supporters and WE REFUSE TO VOTE for any establishment Republican. For the establishment, it's Anyone But Paul. For the grassroots, it's NO ONE BUT PAUL!

No One But Paul will earn our votes in the general election. It's time to make a statement to the media and to the GOP establishment that without us, THEY WILL LOSE! On February 14th, 2012, we will raise another $3,000,000 for Ron Paul's presidential campaign. Every supporter that donates to this money bomb will be making the statement that they will vote for No One But Paul! In order to pull this off, the grassroots must come together once again just like we did for Black This Out and we must promote the No One But Paul Facebook Event (http://www.facebook.com/events/315931335112891/) until we have 20,000 supporters attending the money bomb. If we all work together and use the promotion tools listed below, we can reach our 20,000 pledge goal! Super Tuesday is coming up. If we don't pull this off, then this could be the end of the road. Instead, let's ensure this is a new beginning for liberty! NO ONE BUT PAUL!

Post Status Updates & Comments on Ron Paul Facebook Pages

1. Either type Ron Paul in the Facebook search box and hit "See more results for Ron Paul" in the dropbox...
2. Or use all of the Ron Paul Facebook pages that I've linked at the bottom of this post. The pages with the most likes are higher in the list.
3. Go to the wall of any Ron Paul page and hit "Everyone."
4. Now post a status update on the wall about the money bomb so that everyone that visits the page will see it. Use the example below.
5. Post a new status update on these pages every so often to make sure new people visiting the page will always see it.
6. If the Ron Paul page or any other page posts an official status update, make sure to get in there and leave plenty of comments.
7. The best thing we can do is to leave comments and status updates in places where large numbers of Ron Paul supporters will see them.

Of course we are going to add a lot more content, functionality and widgets to the page and looking for brainstorming ideas in terms of what copy should be added. Right now we're at the starting bare bones stage, but it's never too early to start brainstorming.

As far as Facebook goes I'd imagine you can start pushing that now, unless we need to wait for the images or any copy that is needed.

Seawolf, they are actually going back to the grassroots theme that was going to be for February as of a week and a half ago and they made the date earlier. Originally we were talking about NOBP a little later in the campaign and Bailout Freedom (we were calling it Bailout for Freedom) in February so at least they are going with something a good number of the folks here liked.

McKarnin, thanks for the information, but it seems they are ignoring the hard work and planning of the Grassroots. Maybe based on this we should just back off and let them set the agenda.

It would save alot of time and effort.

I messaged the campaign over a week ago with a head's up that the grassroots was planning something for the 17th and we didn't want a conflict. They must have looked at the themes that were available and chosen the bailout one. Just an fyi, the Bailout theme web domains, hosting and web work all started over a week ago as well. No One but Paul started later but a bit ahead of the Bailout group. So I really think the campaign is trying to work with us on this one.

Chances are they want to help promote and No One But Paul, even with a twist feels too endgame for February.

Alright, we'll most likely be moving forward with No One But Paul to kick off the first day of the campaign's Mega Money Bomb, which starts on the 14th and runs through the 17th, that is as long as Josh doesn't object to us promoting this alongside the campaign's theme. Who knows, the campaign might even change its mind when they see us promoting this instead. Regardless, that's up to them.

The campaign promotes the more mainstream Bailout Freedom to draw in new donors and the grassroots promotes the more edgy No One But Paul to excite hardcore supporters. Both themes reinforce each other and should give a huge kickstart to the money bomb on the 14th. Goal 1 is to reach 20,000 Facebook pledges. Goal 2 is to reach 10,000 website pledges. Goal 3 is to reach $3 million on the 14th. We want to put the major focus on reaching 20,000 Facebook pledges, just like we did with Black This Out. We want to see if we can replicate Black This Out with the edgy theme we're using.

As for updates, I wrote up a new money bomb intro text, added some new promotional avatars, updated the Facebook promotion section with some copy and paste text and example images. Feel free to discuss things.

I'm glad we are all good with the campaign now. I am frustrated that if they are ok with No One but Paul they didn't pick it to promote when they moved the moneybomb date to Valentine's Day. Bailout Freedom is a great theme but will be a lot harder to tie into that date than NOBP. Unfortunately, unlike NOBP Bailout Freedom will be promoted by the campaign so we can't reuse that theme in March. :o

Yea we were looking for a better version of it, it came from the "You like Ron Paul except for his Foreign Policy" video, if you have a link to a higher res photo or video def. This is from the Rally for Republic for those that don't know, if anyone has a high res photo of this that would rock too, Dave says "it would be more perfect then peanut butter ice cream, and peanut butter ice cream is awesome sauce."

Why do the numbers keep dropping on the event? It was at 415, then it dropped to 410, then it was 427 and now it's 420. Maybe this has to do with changing the banner too many times? People on the page are complaining about it.

Yea that could be there also seems to be people being invited to the event that are not necessarily Ron Paul supporters, joining and then being like um why did I get invited to this after they had already accepted and then dropping which could be causing that, I noticed that happening earlier. But I do agree with that one guy about status messages being annoying from facebook event, it's a reason I also don't normally join events in facebook. It seems any time we make any change to the event even if it's not date/time changes they get announced and an email sent out, wish there was a way to turn that off. Either way I don't imagine us having too many changes to the event page going forward, and they could always turn off notifications of people posting on the event page can't they? In any case for those like that one guy that don't like the idea of joining facebook event we do have the site they can pledge through instead.

The reason that banner image is so big is because I used the print screen button on my browser when it was zoomed in 125%. For the real sizes, check the thread I did for Tea Party 11. There were three sizes...

At this point, I don't really care anymore. They need to know where we stand and that it will be their election to lose if they ignore our warning here. I know others will think differently about this method, but frankly, I'm tired of these establishment Republicans and the media thinking they know so much better than we do and thinking they can get away with distorting our positions and blacking us out on TV. We have the upper hand this time. They need to make a decision and soon about whether they're really willing to risk losing to Obama in November, because I can guarantee you they're NOT getting my support if Ron Paul isn't the nominee. This money bomb is about proving that point to all of them.

Here is our progress so far. I started tracking Black This Out at around 1,000 pledges. If at that point we're not bringing in 200-300 pledges a day we could be in trouble. We really need more promoters. Maybe GhoeberX's video will help with that when he releases it at the end of the week.

Anyone have brainstorming ideas that we could do to support the meme visually on people's profile images? Something along the lines of a black bar over eyes, like was done for BTO? We need a good visual that would be a modification of someone's profile image that communicates NOBP the same way the black bar did for BTO.

Not sure it's that important to spend too much more time working with the graphs, especially if it's adding dates we don't have data for yet. It would be better use of time to build tools that recruit promoters helping to increase those numbers through social media.

Ok I'm going to assume Dusman won't be able to contact the person, if he does that's great, but I'll assume for now that he won't be able to and continue moving forward.

I also tried contacting Will yesterday to find out about sending a mass email out. I looked on the old Mail Chimp account, but I'm not sure it's being used anymore. Anyway, I haven't gotten a response back yet.

In my opinion, I think we started out good on this project, but we're starting to drop the ball and become complacent. Only a couple posts in this thread yesterday prove my point. Where is everyone discussing how to make this thing big? It seems as if everyone vanished. We had a really good discussion going through email and now nothing. I apologize if there are things being worked on behind the scenes, but I just don't see any activity here.

How about another pledge competition like we did for Black This Out? Does anybody here know how to code up the system that Dusman used?

I agree also I think if someone could write up a post on Daily Paul forums, if anyone has contacts with the DP people over there it could get promoted to the front page which would generate a lot of new pledges and open up another place where conversations are happening to increase number of promoters for the moneybomb. Someone has mentioned this to me in the past, not sure if it's true or not, but that people on DP forum are more willing to do actual campaign and volunteering work as opposed to sitting around on forums all day just theorycrafting and looking out for the next tidbit of info like junkies looking for crack or a fat kid and cake. :rolleyes:

I would post on DP and follow up with them, but have my hands full at the moment, someone should do it though.

I'm not the image guy. Orenbus has somebody making them. I would suggest using the black and orange one. It is the most readable and I think it looks the best. Check to see what size the actual Facebook advertisement is and then ask Orenbus if he could give you an image in that size. Just right click the image and hit properties to see the size.

1. First and most important, download one of the existing Black This Out promotional videos and upload it to your YouTube channel. I would suggest uploading a new Black This Out video every time a new one comes out in order to keep it current in people's minds. 2. Add an annotation on all your current and future Ron Paul videos up until Oct 19th mentioning the money bomb and listing the website. It might be even more effective to add one at the beginning for those who might not reach the end of the video, and one at the end in order to remind people to check out the website now that your video has completed. This was a message we were sending to YouTube members. I used the same YouTube list from Black This Out for Tea Party 11 and sent a shorter message to everyone about uploading GhoeberX's money bomb video, so their subscribers would know about it. I provided a download link to make it easier on people which also allowed me to track how many video downloads we got. Out of like 500 people I sent the message to, only about 15 people actually downloaded and re-uploaded the video like I asked them to. It would be a waste of time to do this again.

I would suggest contacting as many meetups as possible instead.

I've been disappointed with the fact that while 700,000 people claim to be fans of Ron Paul only something like 200,000 have donated. We may well be in the #1 position right now if all of his fans would give $10 per month for God's sake.

Continuing the effort is worthwhile, I applaud those who are getting this going. It is worth noting that in this economy some people literally do not have $10 a month to spare, there are indeed many people who are living on credit or charity simply to scrape together enough for bills each month. I know the cause needs money but it's important to remember that money is not the only metric for support.

Alright, here's my take:

I think there's many reasons why pledging and promoting isn't going as fast as in 2007:
- By far biggest reason: the majority of Ron Paul supporters has moved from RonPaulForums and DailyPaul in 2007 to Facebook-supporters in 2011/2012. And these people are rarely being contacted to promote moneybombs! We simply don't seem to be able anymore to reach our fellow supporters!
- Facebook-group owners are out of touch with grassroots-people. And not only out of touch with grassroots, these people don't even respond to the official campaign....
- The decline of Meetup.com: in 2007 there were 100.000 active Ron Paul supporters on meetup.com: they were extremely important spreading the word in the 2nd stage!
- And a minor reason is that even RonPaulForums isn't supporting moneybombs as hard as they used to. (I've just sent a message this morning to ask them to promote it more)

So far for the period before the moneybomb; during the moneybombs itself there is also some things lacking. First of all, there have been two very successful moneybombs in the 2012-cycle (TeaParty11 had a total of 2,99 million in one day ($4 mln with weekend included) and BlackThisOut had 2,16 million in one day ($3 mln with weekend included), but we are missing:
- Ron Paul Graphs (this had a really huge impact, often overlooked)
- Ron Paul Radio of DJ Loti

Having said that, if we can promote No One But Paul on Youtube-channel Ronpaul2008dotcom and the biggest Ron Paul facebook-groups, we can definitely make the €3 MILLION goal for No One But Paul.

Also, Contact George Noory on Coast to Coast (email him) and beg him to mention the moneybomb, with all the particulars.
Also, Reach out to Snoop Dogg - tell him you appreciate his support and wonder if you can do you a huge solid by promoting this money bomb for freedom & liberty, and throw in some toker reference.. and give him the particulars.
Reach out to Dave Mustaine and Ted Nugent too, the same way. (face book pages, fan pages) etc..

Don't write anything huge, just put your emotion into it and emplore them to help out, This could be the last time before we are embroiled in another war and govt has totally gone crazy or collapsed from debt etc..

We have to stress that the No One But Paul Money Bomb is to fund Super Tuesday, March 6th. This will be the opportunity for the Campaign to breakout.

By my estimate we will need to raise $5 Million during the February 14th thru 17th time period. Remember Ron's Jan 2nd letter stated that the Campaign needed to raise $9.7 Million in the next 45 days or by February 17th.

My best educated guess based on the South Carolina Money Bomb Total and the Daily Paul Donation Tracker plus snail mail donations is that the Campaign will have raised approximately $4.5 to $4.7 Million as of February 13th.

It will be a HUGE CHALLENGE for all the reasons that GHoerbex stated above. This is the Moment!!! WE CANNOT FAIL!!!

Has anyone here been messaging the RP Facebook groups to plug the website? I don't use Facebook so can't do that. The Facebook groups MUST send the word out about the money bomb or it likely won't be a big one.
