As if there was any question--Ron Paul just shows how awesome and committed to fiscal responsibility and constitutional governance he is. Unlike the other candidates, Ron continuously fights against the rising national debt.

Just saw an ad on top that said

"We are facing a tough choice..

We must choose liberty..

MARK LEVIN EXPLOSION"

I was dissapointed.

Hmmm, why would he go back to vote against the debt ceiling but not go to vote against NDAA?

EDIT: Not trying to be a downer but prepare for this type of analysis from opp. bloggers/possibly MSM

He did the first time. The second time the deal had been cut and there were more than enough to pass it whatever he did. That time it would only have been for show. He drew attention to it in debates and interviews and articles, instead.

Can't make every vote. I read he had a national debate the same day of the NDAA vote.Doesn't hold much water imo.

No, I agree with the ad. Exploding Mark Levin would certainly mean more liberty. :p

Attn: NSA: This is a joke. I strongly oppose violence as a political solution.

Wonder how the other candidates will vote.... :)

All the other candidates have the luxury of being Monday morning quarterbacks, only Paul ad Bachmann were actual active members of Congress.

This could be a good talking point for Ron. Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum haven't been in office in over 5 years, and Newt Gingrich hasn't been in office since the 1990's. We need someone who is ready to serve on day one, not someone who has been out of the game for years, or a decade.

The article it links to has a surprisingly positive tone to it as well.

Paul or not at all

Glad I decided not to go to SC, a lot of people will be disappointed tonight at the candidate rally tho. Fox News said that this move by Paul proves he isnt taking SC seriously.

What time is the rally in comparisson to the vote? Would it be possible to do both?

BTW it actually proves he takes our economic situation seriously.....He is the only candidate running that is still serving our country(Rick perry will soon be gone)

Is this down? Not seeing anything on Drudge. Still shows that old picture with Newt on it at the top. Then again, I always seem to have this problem with Drudge, it doesn't update.

I think Drudge wants RP to be President. That's all.

I disagree. He's a neocon at heart. Gives way more coverage to the other candidates.

He gives coverage to Ron. He has a site to run, too.

There aren't any candidates running who can vote except for Ron who has ALWAYS voted against raising the debt ceiling.

But if they could, we all know they would vote YES to raise the debt ceiling. Santorum has done it at least 5 times while in office adding trillions to our national debt.

I am shocked the headline is not 'Paul flies First Class in D.C. detour to vote against debt increase'.

MSM fail.

Hell every Christmas he gives Infowars the red links.....

Remember in 2008 when McCain "suspended" his campaign to go back to DC and vote AYE on TARP. Contrast that with Ron Paul announcing today that he is going back to DC to vote NO on raising the debt limit another trillion dollars. That's called real leadership.

The vote is a no-brainer for Mr. Paul, now in his 12th term, who has made a career out of voting against spending bills and debt increases. It also will give him a chance to highlight another difference with some of his competitors, former Sen. Rick Santorum and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who supported debt increases during their time in Congress.

I read he doesn't return to SC until Thursday. Does this mean he is skipping the Personhood USA forum tomorrow night, after he already confirmed he was attending?

Not shirking his responsibilities to campaign. Good on ya RP. I think the breaks are good for the campaign. The others are on such hectic schedules they look desperate.

It's a very solid political hit. All his surrogates in SC can say: "Dr. Paul is not here today because he is attending to our nation's business, voting against increasing the debt ceiling."

HAHA! From the comments below.

voting no on the raising of the debt ceiling is just irresponsible. What's the alternative, default and decent into chaos and riots? This country would be finished if more people voted with Paul on this issue.

In the debate tomorrow he can bring it up, "Senator Santorum, yesterday I was in Washington voting against raising the debt limit, and you voted to raise the debt limit 5 different times..."

BOOYAH!! unless there was no senate vote

Even if the Senate didn't vote, Paul saying this [what Maximus said] would hold true and effective regardless.
