View Full Version : URGENT: Website Resolution Display Problems

This needs to be fixed soon because many users will have trouble reading the text.
I'm using a widescreen display and when my window is maximized on TeaParty07.com, some of the text goes over the edge of the piece of parchment:

This is caused by the fact that a static background image is being used as the background for some text that will display differently in different browsers.

Please fix this soon :) Thanks!

I'm running Firefox with a screen resolution of 1024 x 768, and even at that somewhat common resolution, I have to scroll to the right to see the right side flag, but I am able to see the text centered within the scroll properly with no problems.

Perhaps Trevor can adjust things to make sure that a wide variety of browsers and screen resolutions are supported and a consistent formating is preserved regardless of resolution or browser type.

I'm getting the same problem with both Firefox and Safari.
If I squeeze the open window to a more narrow display, the text slides into the right place, but displayed full-screen on my iMac, some of the writing gets cut off.

Same thing happens on my iMac.

Also, reduce the file size(lower the quality) of the flags. I've checked the site out from different locations and it loads way too slow.

This will annoy potential donors and it's unprofessional

I hope this gets fixed soon :/

just sent the compressed flag images to trevor, he'll need to take care of the alignment issue though.

It works fine for me, but it obviously needs fixing.

Here is what I see if I expand it on my dual monitor setup:

I agree, the writing on the left side is now slightly cut off. I use Internet Explorer.

Yup, it looks like different browsers are creating different results.

Safari is perfect:)

Firefox & Explorer are the problem right now.:o

Trevor is doing a great job on the site, but it does need some tweaking.

You can see how the teaparty07 site looks at three common resolutions here:

http://thisdecember15th.org/image/tid/1

It looks good at high resolution, but is not great at 800x600 or 1024x768. At least 10% of viewers still use 800x600 and over half use 1024x768.

This is just a suggestion - can you make the top of page, including the text, a single image and then use percentage layout for the image?

Here is an example:

Resize your browser horizontally to see the effect.
